We finally have news about the Walt Disney World attraction that guests have been waiting years for. The TRON Lightcycles in Magic Kingdom, which opens to the public on April 4th, has begun previewing for Disney cast members, resulting in unexpected reviews. Those that rode the attraction consistently sing its praises, enjoying the futuristic coaster and its TRON film-inspired theme. On the other hand, multiple reports are emerging that the ride vehicle is so restrictive that several cast members could not ride at all.
Before anyone is too quick to leave body-shaming remarks, keep in mind that some comments are pretty specific, detailing that guests at the 5’10” mark were finding it difficult to get on and off the attraction. One social media user even commented that her daughter at 5’7″ and 170lbs (77kgs) had a difficult time riding. At the same time, another noted that anyone with a 14 pant size likely wouldn’t be able to ride.
If you are envisaging the TRON vehicles to be similar to be somewhat restrictive nature of the Flight of Passage attraction, then you might be interested to hear that some cast members are describing the TRON seating as “way smaller” than the Avatar attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Making matters worse, there is one accessible seating carriage at the end of the link of Lightcycles, making it a long wait time if you need to use this seating to ride, which, I imagine, will split up families and friend groups hoping to ride together.
If you are a cast member who has tried this attraction, let us know your thoughts on the ride vehicle.
