Outsidears has provided a first look at concept art and blueprints of the new East Pavilion that will be in the Lake Promenade expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris.
The new promenade is home to the “Tangled Round Ride,” a spinner based on the 2010 animated film about Rapunzel, and will lead guests to the new Arendelle – World of “Frozen” land. There will also be an updated Toy Story Playland entrance, a new English Gardens area, a floor rosette, and a food truck.
The East Pavilion will be near the “Tangled” ride and across from the new table-service restaurant. The Art Nouveau architecture is reminiscent of “The Princess and the Frog,” which was a theme previously considered for the building.
It will be a multi-functional space housing a quick-service restaurant, restrooms, and a control room for future lake shows hidden in the turret at the top of the building. Other Cast Member spaces will include a dressing room for characters and technical support for other operations.
Terraces under awnings will provide space for about fifty people to dine under cover.
A second smaller structure nearby complies with storm sheltering laws. It has matching Art Nouveau architecture with arches and turrets.
A bench within this structure will face the lake.

Ride closures in particular can have a big impact on your trip — that’s why it’s important to pay attention to Disney’s refurbishment schedule. But sometimes even that doesn’t go to plan. Just this month the refurbishment of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith was delayed, and today we have news of a ride that opened AHEAD of schedule!
We were in Disney’s Animal Kingdom today when we noticed that Kali River Rapids, which was originally scheduled to reopen on March 17th, was running ahead of schedule!

When we walked by, we noticed the wait time was only 5 minutes! It’s always a nice surprise when a ride opens early, but with all of the record-breaking Florida heat we’ve seen this February, this water ride is a particularly timely surprise.

This raft-based water ride gives you a pretty high chance of getting wet, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on hopping on this one today. If temperatures stay as hot as they’ve been lately, this might be a great way to cool off.

This morning Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a press conference at the Reedy Creek Fire Station. During this conference, he signed the legislation that will allow the government to take over the Reedy Creek Improvement District into law.
DeSantis has declared that this “corporate kingdom” is coming to an end and that there will be a “new sheriff in town.” He also made it clear that this is a response to The Walt Disney Company opposing the “Don’t Say Gay” bill or also known as The Florida Parental Rights in Education Act.
This new law also means that the district is now called the Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board and consists of a board appointed by the governor of Florida. As many of you may remember, one of the qualifications to be on the board is that the board members couldn’t have worked in the theme park industry within three years.
DeSantis said that he selected a board filled with a variety of experiences. This includes people experienced in business, local government, and those who “want to see Disney be what Walt envisioned.” Many of us can argue that the Reedy Creek Improvement District is what Walt envisioned, but that’s a conversation for a different day.
In this press conference, the governor invited several guests to speak and share their experience with Disney. The topics touched on in this portion were mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and “immoral” content. The fire department chief took the stand, thanked DeSantis, and mentioned that the fire department supports the state takeover. The governor also said that one of the first things he wants to push is increasing the pay for the first responders.
After signing the bill, the firefighters of Reedy Creek presented Ron DeSantis with an axe. It is important to note that the new board will be meeting on March 8th, and later today, the governor will formally appoint the new board.
