Menus with PRICES Are UP for EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival!

EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival is right around the corner!

Let The Fun Begin!

We’ve got a guide to the festival all ready for you, and have all the information we’ve gotten about the festival so far in one post for your convenience. While we’ve started to see the topiaries pop up all over the park, the booths weren’t looking very ready just yet — but now the menus have started popping up!

We spotted the Jardin de Fiestas Booth menu first! The rest of the booth is still in preparation, but the menu is out with prices. The Taco Vampiro is now $8.75 (previously $8).

Then we saw the colorful Florida Fresh Menu — look at all that delicious food we get to try in just a few days!

Next up was the Farmer’s Feast Booth menu — we love that design at the top! The Char-grilled Bison Ribeye got a slight price increase of 25 cents.

Germany was next — the Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market menu is up! We can’t wait to get our hands on these eats again. Each Potato Pancake dish went up 25 cents as well.

Another booth we spotted was the Magnolia Terrace Booth menu — YUM! The prices look the same for the menu items that were here last year.

The Brunchcot menu is also up! This is a new booth this year, however it has a lot of the same menu items as last year’s Sunshine Griddle booth. The only price difference is that the Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites are now $4.75 instead of $4.50.

BRUNCHCOT

For now, these are the only menus we see up in the park right now, but we’ll let you know when we see more! This festival kicks off later this week on March 1st, and we’re ready to go in and try ALL the new dishes, so stay tuned to DFB!

The Royal Pub at Disneyland Paris Menu Updated After Criticism for Promoting Non-British Foods

The Royal Pub, a new restaurant in Disney Village at Disneyland Paris, has had to make some alterations to its displayed menu after advertising “British” food but including non-British dishes.

TikTok user Edith Gervin posted a video about the controversy over the menu. The Royal Pub, which only opened this week, replaced King Ludwig’s Castle and was advertised as a traditional “British” pub. The menu displayed outside the restaurant read “The best of British food,” but as Gervin pointed out there are multiple Irish dishes on the menu. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom but not Great Britain, which is technically just the island comprised of England, Scotland, and Wales.

The Irish dishes include Bushmills Irish Tiramisu and Guinness-Braised Beef, with the latter listed under “Traditional British Recipes.” Other dishes at the restaurant are also not necessarily British, but the Irish dishes raised the biggest alarms due to the history between Ireland and Britain.

DLP Report shared before and after photos of the menu displayed outside the restaurant, which is not operated by Disney.

The display never included the full menu, just basic pricing and promotional information.

The new version of the display menu now reads “The finest pub food” instead of “The best of British food.” An image of the “power bowl” has also been removed, although the item is still listed as a promoted menu item. We don’t know if any of the dishes have been renamed, changed, or removed from the full menu.

The change in advertising is a good first step, but if the Irish dishes remain at a restaurant named “The Royal Pub,” guests could continue to take offense. Northern Ireland, as part of the U.K., falls under the jurisdiction of the English royal family, but the Republic of Ireland does not and has long been independent with no monarch.

Interactive MagicBand+ Effects Being Tested For Disney100 Medallions at Disneyland Resort

Though the decorative Disney100 medallions at Disneyland Resort do not yet interact with MagicBand+, it looks like the interactive effects are being tested. We saw red lights on this medallion in Downtown Disney District last night.

Disney100 medallions

The small lights are around the edge of the medallion, within the magical sparkles of the three fairies. Disneyland promised MagicBand+ would be able to interact with some Disney100 decorations.

Speakers were also added to the medallion in Disney California Adventure, presumably also in keeping with Disney’s promise for MagicBand+ interactions. In addition to the medallions, guests may also soon be able to use their MagicBand+ to interact with the platinum Mickey and Minnie statues in Disneyland.

At Walt Disney World, guests can interact with the golden Fab 50 statues by waving at them, triggering different sound effects. With MagicBand+ and the My Disney Experience app, Walt Disney World guests can play the Disney Fab 50 Quest game.

The Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration began on January 27, 2023, with the debut of “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway also opened on January 27.

Disneyland Guest Breaks World Record Visiting Park for 2,995 days

California resident Jeff Reitz has achieved a world record by visiting Disneyland daily for a consecutive 2,995 days (a total of eight years, three months, and 13 days).

If you visited Disneyland between 2012 and 2020, you may have encountered Reitz, who began visiting daily with friends when they were all unemployed in 2012.

“It started as a joke between friends when Disneyland announced they were giving an ‘Extra Disney Day’ when they announced the Leap Day 24-hour event in 2012,” he told Guinness. “We decided to use Disneyland as a positive as we were out of work and had annual passes that had been gifted, so it was a source of free entertainment.  It helped to get us out and put a positive mindset, log exercise with all the steps taken, and always networking since you never knew who you would meet.”

The Leap Day event in 2012 was Jeff’s 60th consecutive day. He met a reporter who began following his daily social media posts.

“Then on 2012 July 1, halfway through the year, the Orange County Register reporter printed a story about making it to Day 183,” Reitz said. “The Associated Press picked up the story and it became real as I was getting contacted by newspapers and radio stations from around the globe asking for interviews.”

Over the years, Reitz said he’s been stopped by fellow guests for photos and autographs. He’s visited with friends often, but hasn’t shied away from visiting on his own when necessary.

“It got to be where my schedule was pretty constant so it depended more on others wanting to come join the fun,” Reitz explained.

When it came to his daily routine, he would always post on social media (@Disney366 on Twitter), and then usually take a walk around the park. “I enjoy photography, so I was always watching for images to capture that I could post to share,” the record-holder shared.

Regarding his favorite ride, Reitz said, “There is only one ‘ride’ in Disneyland, being Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, but the Matterhorn Bobsleds have always been my favorite attraction.”

After visiting the park for a year straight, Disneyland presented Reitz with a gift basket and a certificate of Honorary Citizenship. They offered him dinner after the second year and a gift backpack on day 2,000 in 2017.

Reitz was just a few days from his 3,000th consecutive visit when Disneyland Resort closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic on March 14, 2020. He told the Los Angeles Times he does not have a Magic Key pass, plus the required Park Pass reservations make daily visits difficult, but he does still visit the theme parks.

“I think it would be really fun to return with my Guinness World Records title certificate,” Reitz said, “to get pictures where I earned it — inside Disneyland.”

We Were NOT Expecting These Crowds in Disney World This Weekend

It’s another runDisney weekend in Disney World!

Princess Half Marathon Weekend

runDisney weekends means that guests should expect traffic delays and closed roads to keep the runners safe. It also means that crowds can be a lot more intense in the parks than on other winter and early spring weekends — let’s check them out together.

Yesterday (Saturday), we noticed that crowds were a little intense on Main Street, U.S.A

Main Street U.S.A. crowds

…and they continued to be a little heavy throughout the rest of the park, but it really just seemed like a slightly busier Saturday than normal.

Frontierland Crowds

Today, crowds are actually quite low for a runDisney weekend, which had us pleasantly surprised! This morning, the Magic Kingdom Monorail wasn’t needing to use its full queue line, which was a great sign.

Monorail not using their full line

We wondered if crowds would get more intense as it got later in the day once the races were over, but things stayed steady. We did see Haunted Mansion quite backed up though!

Backed up Haunted Mansion

Wait times today have looked great as well, with some of the most popular rides in the whole resort being 80-85 minutes around 3:30PM.

Not bad for a runDisney Sunday!

And that’s what crowds are looking like this runDisney weekend! Keep in mind, each runDisney weekend is different in terms of crowds, so it’s a good idea to always be prepared for the worst. Here’s a look at a previous runDisney weekend in Disney World just so you can get an idea!
