Twitter user Paul Young shared photos of a guest at Disneyland Paris with a large rig of several recording devices set up to livestream the “Avengers: Power the Night” drone show at Walt Disney Studios Park.
Young said in his first tweet that the guest “thinks it’s ok to shush children in a theme park while he’s doing a live stream” and added in his Twitter replies that “He shut up pretty quick once I laughed and just said no.” Young is visiting the resort with his two young children.
Young shared a close-up photo of the rig, which includes five smartphones (one just to display the time), three different types of cameras, and a shotgun microphone. At least six devices were being used to stream or record at once.
Twitter user @_Orelseum said in a reply, “I’m one of the fireworks tech [sic] on this show. We had not yet started any procedures at all when we saw this guy install his equipment four hours before the show on the way to our lunch.”
Multiple people in the replies said they had encountered this guest before. He reportedly wears apparel with “Cast Member” printed on it so people think he is operating in an official capacity. In these photos, he’s wearing a Cast Member jacket.
Professional recording and some large filming equipment are not allowed in Disney Parks, but as Young said in one reply, “No professional would do this”.
“Avengers: Power the Night” premiered in late January as part of the resort’s 30th anniversary “Grand Finale.” This new show features drones depicting Spider-Man, Captain America’s Shield, Mjolnir, Nick Fury, and many other symbols of the franchise as firework flares shoot from the Tower of Terror and projections cover its surface. Iconic quotes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are played over snippets of scores from the various MCU films. It’s scheduled to run nightly through May 8, 2023.

The Spirit of Aloha dinner show closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and never reopened. Disney eventually announced it was permanently closed and Luau Cove, home to the show, was demolished to make space for the new Disney Vacation Club building.
A few small trenches are surrounded by caution tape near the edge of the construction site.
Stacks of blue and green pipes have been sitting at the site for several weeks.
The building’s foundation has been carved out closer to the beach and this is where most construction is currently taking place.
Short walls of wood and concrete have been constructed within the foundation.
Only recently did a tall concrete wall go up.
More concrete walls have been added, creating elevator shafts. The rectangular openings are the openings on each floor.
The rest of the building will be constructed around the elevator shafts.
Right now, the shafts only go up three stories, but the building will be taller, as seen in the concept art below.
Two tall cranes are parked at the construction site for moving large materials.
Barriers in the lagoon beyond the beach prevent debris from floating out into the open water.
Projected to open in late 2024, the proposed vacation ownership property would complement the existing resort and evoke the spirit of the Pacific Islands.
Disney’s Polynesian Resort underwent an extensive refurbishment recently. While the standard rooms received “Moana” theming, the Vacation Club Studios got “soft goods” refurbishments, meaning just the upholstery, art, and such were updated.

Alongside the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort turned 50 in 2021. The resort opened on October 1, 1971 with Disney’s Contemporary Resort (Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds also celebrated its 50th anniversary, but it didn’t open until November 1971).
It’s also home to the fan-favorite tiki bar, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. Guests don’t need a reservation at the hotel to visit the on-site bars and restaurants.

After learning some new details about San Fransokyo Square earlier this week, we decided to take a trip out to Disney California Adventure to see how construction was going on the new land. While the Marvel presence at EPCOT is largely relegated to World Discovery and its flagship attraction Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, it seems traces of the blockbuster superhero universe are leaking into World Showcase in a rather unexpected way — with new travel poster-inspired banners installed in Disney Traders near the entrance from World Celebration.
The four travel poster-like banners are mounted on the four columns at the shop’s center.
The first showcases the Quantum Realm as visualized in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” rather than the latest installment which shows it more as a fantastical civilization. Red, blue, and green particles are visible throughout and it reads “You’re never too small to visit the Quantum Realm.”
The second depicts Wakanda from the “Black Panther” series, showing the natural African landscapes in the foreground as well as Warrior Falls. In the background is the capital city Birnin Zana. Below we see the slogan “Enjoy our lands and feel like a king.”
The Savage Land made its first appearance in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” as one of the many multiverses through which America Chavez was chased by the Scarlet Witch. While only seen briefly in the film, The Savage Land is very commonly used throughout Marvel Comics and may yet make a more major appearance in the MCU. The background shows a Sabertooth Cat among a fantastical lush background of trees and towering mountains. The tagline reads “Where time is left behind.”
Finally, tying into the attraction actually here at EPCOT, we see “Knowhere” from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” series. Built instead the skull of a dead Celestial, Knowhere was formerly used as the headquarters of “The Collector” Taneleer Tivan, a name very familiar to Disneyland Resort locals. Once a haven for the galaxy’s outlaws, it now plays host to the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves. The very 1980s-style art reads “The edge of the universe will take you… Knowhere”
All four of these travel poster-like banners are now on display in Disney Traders at EPCOT. How do you feel about seeing more Marvel decor seep into the Disney Parks? Let us know in the comments below!

Disneyland Resort has issued a notification to all guests visiting that due to inclement weather, Disneyland Park will be closing one hour early tonight, and hours have also changed for tomorrow.
The update reads “Park Hours Update:” followed by “Due to inclement weather, Disneyland Park will be closing at 11 pm tonight. We apologize for any inconvenience.
A quick glance at the calendar reveals Disneyland has also cut its hours for tomorrow, February 25. The park will also close at 11:00p.m. instead of midnight.
The last early closure for inclement weather was during the bomb cyclone on January 5. Even during heavy rain, Disneyland still remained open until 11:00p.m. instead of midnight.
The Weather Channel forecasts that in the Anaheim area it will rain all day today, and winds are gusting in excess of 20mph, an unsafe level for shows even without the rain. The rain is set to continue tomorrow, although winds will be at a much more manageable 8mph most of the day.
“Wondrous Journeys” is still set to be presented with fireworks tonight at 9:30p.m., although this will likely change to projections only if these weather conditions continue as predicted. Wait times are low across the park, with some outdoor attractions like Radiator Springs Racers and Alice in Wonderland closed, while others like Autopia, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Matterhorn Bobsleds remain operating.
Will this affect your plans to stay out late at Disneyland tonight? Let us know in the comments below.
