Earl of Sandwich Tavern Sign Installed at Downtown Disney District

Although fans were eager to welcome back the beloved Earl of Sandwich to the Downtown Disney District early this month, we still have yet to hear about when its table service counterpart Earl of Sandwich Tavern will open. Nonetheless, we spotted the signage for the new sit-down location installed at its future home!

Like the quick-service location, Earl of Sandwich Tavern will be located in the former La Brea Bakery location, presumably until a new permanent home for the restaurant is constructed.

The small dining area will be home to the restaurant and a full bar. The difference between the menu of the quick-service and sit-down areas is unclear at present.

The temporary Earl of Sandwich location reopened on February 1 just over a year after its previous location closed for the reimagining of the Downtown Disney District. This space is eventually set to be demolished and used for the Porto’s Bakery location announced at D23 Expo 2022. But much like the Main Street Electrical Parade, Earl of Sandwich just won’t stay dead at Disneyland and we expect it will have a permanent location once the reimagining is complete.

Disney Cast Members Sign Beam Destined for World Celebration at EPCOT

Recently, Disney Cast Members signed a beam destined for World Celebration at EPCOT. Today, on the Walt Disney World Ambassador Instagram page, Ali Manion posted photos of her and other Cast Members adding their signatures to a large steel beam that will eventually become part of a building within World Celebration.

“We stopped by EPCOT for an exclusive #DisneyCastLife opportunity as #EPCast made their mark – literally – on part of the park’s transformation, signing their names on a steel beam that will be part of World Celebration later this year,” posted Manion.

“The transformation of EPCOT is a historic time for the park, and innovation on this scale is impossible without the dedication and support of our cast,” continued Manion. “Here’s to the EPCOT worldwide family for making it happen!”

Photos of EPCOT throughout the years are displayed behind the cast members, dating back to when Walt first introduced E.P.C.O.T. to America in a televised presentation and continuing up to the present day.

At the 2019 D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Disney unveiled an expansive plan to completely reimagine nearly every area of EPCOT. In 2020, the global COVID-19 pandemic either delayed or canceled some of the projects that were planned.

In May 2022, Disney released new concept art for the reimagining of EPCOT, acknowledging the budget cuts that had been made since the initial detailed announcements in 2019.

Looking at the aerial view, it’s evident that there are significant differences from the previous concept art. The most prominent change is the lack of the festival center with its rooftop area, which has been replaced with a scaled-down version that now includes an outdoor stage.

Are you excited for all the EPCOT construction to finally be finished? What are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below.

You Can Invite One Disney Character to Dinner

I’ve had character dining on my mind lately, reminiscing about the days when my children went to the buffet with Goofy and when Stitch stole my son’s pancake in a hilarious little game they had. It has me thinking about the characters available at dining opportunities in Walt Disney World and the ones I would like to see. We’ve tackled this subject before, reviewing which characters would make for some epic new experiences at the parks, but I thought we might take this a step further. Let’s play a little game, shall we?

If you could choose any character across all the Disney horizons, I’m talking Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and everything in between; who would you invite to dinner? Don’t just give me a name on this one; I also want to hear the rationale behind it. Would it be a group setting sharing laughs with Mickey or a quiet booth for two sharing dark secrets and strategies with Darth Vader?

Choose one Disney Character to invite to dinner, and tell us why you chose them.

While others might think the obvious answer will be Mickey or Minnie Mouse, my sights are set a little further afield. I’d love to have dinner with Genie from Aladdin, hearing all about the places he has been, the crazy wishes that have been granted, and maybe even score a bonus one of my own? No harm in trying, right?

Everything We Know about the NEW Food Booth Coming to the 2023 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival

Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival is right around the corner and we are ready for it.

Flower and Garden Festival

We’ve already seen some topiaries go up, full menus have been released for the festival, and there’s even a NEW booth for us to check out. We spotted this booth on one of our last trips to EPCOT and are here to tell you everything we know about it so far — come take a look!

This new booth, BRUNCHCOT, is located near Test Track and is taking the place of last year’s Sunshine Griddle — our Best of the Fest booth from 2022. Don’t fret, though — even though BRUNCHCOT is a new booth, a lot of the menu items look very familiar. Let’s take a look at what food they’ll be offering.

Brunchcot

For food options, we’ll be getting three returning favorites and one NEW item: Lox Benedict on Everything Focaccia.

This is made with everything-spiced cream cheese, shallots, crispy capers, and hollandaise.

Returning this year is the Avocado Toast with marinated toybox tomatoes on toasted ciabatta

…as well as one of our favorites: the Shrimp and Grits.

Shrimp and Grits

This is made with blackened shrimp and cheddar cheese grits with brown gravy and sweet corn salsa, and we loved it last year.

If you’re looking for something sweet, you can’t miss the Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites with cream cheese frosting and candied bacon, which is also returning from last year.

For drinks, this booth is bringing back two options from last year’s Sunshine Griddle and is also getting a NEW cocktail. In true brunch fashion, you can now get a Peach Bellini with your snacks. If you prefer a little caffeine in your brunch cocktail, Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew Cocktail is returning this year.

Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew Cocktail

It’s made with milk, Kahlúa Rum and Coffee Liqueur, and vanilla vodka. When we’ve tried this in the past, it was pretty strong on the alcohol, so keep that in mind when you order! If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic option, you can try the returning Froot Loops Shake.

We thought this tasty beverage was super fruity and a perfect kid-friendly drink.

While this booth has quite a few options that we’ve seen before, we are looking forward to trying the new items. But these aren’t the only exciting changes we’re getting at this year’s festival — Florida Fresh, a booth that was missing last year, is back with some new food! At this booth, we are getting the new Blackened Fish Slider with roasted tomatoes, watercress, and citrus remoulade on brioche, as well as a Florida Strawberry Shortcake

Florida Fresh Booth

Connections Café & Eatery will also be participating in the Flower & Garden Festival for the first time this year with a new Orange Bird Liege Waffle.

Connections Café

Over by the Land Pavilion, the Land Cart will also be participating with a new snack, and at Sunshine Seasons we’ll be getting a new Strawberry-mango Slushy.

Sunshine Seasons

We’ll be at EPCOT on opening day reviewing all that the festival has to offer — so stay tuned to DFB for more!
