CHANGE Revealed for Disneyland’s Newest Ride
At Disneyland Park in California, a NEW ride has recently opened — Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Though the ride had been open for a while in Disney World, it is new to the Disneyland scene. We’ve already shared all kinds of easter eggs you can find on the ride, but to get on the ride you’ll either need to grab a virtual queue boarding group or pay for an Individual Lightning Lane. Soon, however, things will change!
According to Scott Gustin, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland will NOT be available via virtual queue tomorrow, February 22nd. Instead, it’ll have a regular standby queue for guests to wait in. The Individual Lightning Lane, however, will continue to be available.

How will you know on any given day if the virtual queue is being used? Check the Disneyland app! If you look at the ride there, you’ll see whether a virtual queue is in use. For example, this is what it looks like for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway today (virtual queue in use)…
…versus WEB Slingers (no virtual queue in use today).
Again, because the use of the virtual queue can vary by date, just be sure to check on the day of your trip. And stay tuned for more Disney news.

Complete List of Rides That Stay OPEN for EPCOT After Hours Events
Did you hear? Disney World just announced a BUNCH of new dates for after hours events at EPCOT!
If you want to get on rides with lower wait times, grab special snacks and treats, and see the Disney World theme parks LATE at night, you can buy a ticket for one of the after hours events. For EPCOT, those events will take place on select nights between June 1st and August 24th, 2023. You might be wondering what exactly is included in these events, including which attractions actually stay open once the park closes to daytime guests. We have an answer for you!
The 2023 after hours events at EPCOT take place between June 1st and August 24th, and tickets range in price from $129 to $139 per person (although DVC Members and Annual Passholders get a discount, so all tickets cost $99 for them). Note that this is a separately ticketed event — a normal daytime EPCOT park ticket will NOT get you into the after hours party.
With an after hours ticket, you can enter the park a bit before the event begins, at 7PM. You do not need a Park Pass Reservation or daytime EPCOT ticket.
Tickets go on sale on March 3rd, 2023, but if you have reservations to stay at a Disney World hotel (including all Disney-owned hotels, the Shades of Green resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve hotels), then you can buy tickets a little early, starting on February 28th.
Lots of rides will remain open during the after hours event, including the following:
- Frozen Ever After
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Living with the Land Presented by Chiquita®
- Mission: SPACE
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends
- Soarin’ Around the World
- Spaceship Earth
- Test Track Presented by Chevrolet®
On the event website, Disney notes that “attractions and experiences are subject to change without notice. Admission to this event does not guarantee access to any attraction or experience.”
Also included in your event ticket are some treats, like ice cream treats, popcorn, and select bottled drinks. These are available at carts stationed throughout EPCOT. You can buy additional snacks, food, and drinks at some restaurants that remain open in EPCOT.
We’ll continue to watch for more updates on all the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB!
