Earlier this month, some themed lanterns were hung along the walkways at Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” at EPCOT. Now, support posts for a canopy have been added near the entrance, and walkway concrete has also been poured.
You can see that some of the lampposts remain wrapped in plastic until they’re ready to be completed.
This main rock structure is where guests will enter the attraction, immediately seeing the swirl symbol of Te Fiti with water running over it.
The walkthrough attraction is made up of water features built into fake rockwork. The rocks are covered in fake plants and moss, and feature some Easter egg carvings.
Clouds of dust can be seen rising from the work site as construction crews work near new concrete walkways.
Directly in front of the main rock structure, construction crews are working. Three new support posts are in place that appear to be for the triangular canopy, as seen in the concept art at the end of this article.
Here’s a look at the concept art for the Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana.” Guests will enter the attraction near the rock featuring Te Fiti’s swirl (visible beyond a tree below).
