The other half of the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. sign on the Space Mountain gift shop has been covered as it undergoes a transformation for TRON. Disney has not officially announced a name change, but it seems the shop will be serving as the TRON Lightcycle / Run exit shop and may get a new moniker to match.
Part of the refurbishment so far has seen the removal of most of the Tomorrowland 1994 elements from the shop, including the giant gears above the entrance, the clock, the electrical tower mural, and themed signage.
Given that these elements are connected to the long-dead 1994 version of Tomorrowland Disney has been slowly erasing for several years now, it is safe to assume they aren’t returning. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the name and theme changed to distance itself from the original concept as part of a “working city.”
The name was carved into the façade. “Tomorrowland” was on the left, while “Light & Power Co.” was on the right.
Now both sides have been covered.
The shop has been closed since August 1, 2022, and the interior has been gutted. Compare the photo below from before the thematical elements were removed to see the changes.
