*NEW* Rød Pølse – $9.49
Danish red hot dog, with curry remoulade, pickled cucumber, and crispy onions
This is a really, really red, low-quality hot dog.
The toppings work well together, but can’t save the thin, rubbery hot dog. It reminded us of a hot dog we’d buy on the street and regret.
But the bun is nice — buttery and toasted.
The toppings and bun are good, but the hot dog is not. Skip this.
*NEW* Frikadeller Meatballs with Danish Gravy – $7.99
beef and pork meatballs in a creamy gravy, topped with apple butter and dill
They were out of gravy, so we got the meatballs with just the drizzle of apple butter.
The meatballs tasted good, we can tell these would probably be a good dish if they were completed with some gravy. The apple butter wasn’t quite enough to do anything for the meatballs.
The meat quality was nice, but just too boring without the gravy to really be able to rate the dish fairly. We did hear from Team Members this was one of their favorite dishes, though (when it has the gravy).
*NEW* Mead Flight (Viking Blod, Odin’s Skull, and GI. Dansk Mjod) – $24
Gi. Dansk Mode is the darkest mead and the most alcohol-forward. It has a lemon ice tea flavor on the back end. It was okay. We neither liked nor disliked it.
The middle mead is Odin’s Skull (also available at the Cursed Coconut Club). It’s cinnamon heavy, and you’ll need to be a big fan of it to enjoy this. This was our least favorite of the three.
The lightest one is the Viking Blod. It was syrupy, like a fortified wine. The honey, cinnamon, clove, and citrus notes are present and balanced. This one was our favorite.
Next time, we’d skip the flight and get a larger serving of the Viking Blod.
*NEW* Odin’s Skull (ABV 19%) – $12
composed of honey, sour apple juice, hops, and cinnamon
*NEW* Gl. Dansk Mjod (ABV 19%) – $12
sweet and semi-dry notes of ginger and the sweetness of honey
*NEW* Viking Blod (ABV 19%) – $12
sweet honey flavors evolving into cinnamon, clove, and citrus
*NEW* Carlsberg (ABV 5%) – $10.50
full bodied Danish pilsner with a hoppy aroma and flavor
