The winner of Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII will be celebrated at Disneyland rather than Walt Disney World for the second year in a row.

This Sunday night the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. On the line is the Lombardi Trophy, bragging rights, and most importantly, a victory parade in Disneyland Park!

The winning team from the NFL’s annual Super Bowl game has traditionally been celebrated in Walt Disney World, with the Most Valuable Player being part of the iconic “I’m going to Disney World” commercial. Last year, for the first time, the Super Bowl-winning Los Angeles Rams celebrated in Disneyland rather than Walt Disney World. Now, according to Disney Parks Twitter, Walt Disney World is being skipped for the second straight year.

Last year’s game took place in Los Angeles, making the decision to celebrate the winner in Disneyland an obvious choice. This year’s game is taking place in Phoenix, which is still much closer to Disneyland than Walt Disney World. Next year, the Super Bowl will be in Las Vegas, making Disneyland a likely destination once again. We will have to wait until 2025 see if Disneyland is still the park of choice when the game is played closer to the East Coast when the game takes place in New Orleans.

The last time we saw the Super Bowl champions come to Walt Disney World was in 2020, when the Kansas City Chiefs coincidentally also played. MVP Patrick Mahomes was celebrated with a parade on Main Street, U.S.A. after Super Bowl LIV in Miami.
