We talk a lot about the main four Disney World parks and their attractions, but what about the water parks?

Typhoon Lagoon is one of two water parks at Disney World. Located near Disney Springs, you’ll find out that this lagoon is full of shipwrecks (and plenty of activities!).

If you’ve never been, you might not know where to start. There are a lot of attractions, and if you’re only spending a half day here you’re probably interested in what to prioritize. We took a look at what real Disney guests think and have ranked all of Typhoon Lagoon’s attractions!

11. Bay Slides

This area is for younger kids who are interested in water slides but not quite ready for the larger rides. There are two slides at Bay Slides, offering a short ride down their downhill slopes with a big splash at the end.

These slides are for kids 60 inches or shorter. This area is ranked last mostly because it only appeals to a small population of guests, but if you have a child who wants to foray into water rides they just might love the Bay Slides!

10. Storm Slides

Next on the list are the Storm Slides. These are essentially the grown-up version of Bay Slides, with three different slides: Jib Jammer, Stern Burner, and Rudder Buster. The slides twist and turn on their way down, traveling through the scenery of the park.

These slides are pretty basic, with the main appeal being the waterfall at the end. While there’s nothing terribly wrong with them, there are more exciting and unique attractions in Typhoon Lagoon to try out.

9. Humunga Kowabunga

This is the fastest and steepest water slide in Typhoon Lagoon. Riders will plummet down a 5-story drop completely in the dark, so this attraction is not for the faint of heart.

While this ride provides plenty of thrills, due to its design it’s pretty short, so if you’re looking for an activity that will take up some time (or don’t want to wait in a super long line for only a few seconds of excitement) you might want to pick a raft ride instead. However, if you love thrills you should try this one out!

8. Ketchakiddee Creek

Ketchakiddee Creek is another area for younger kids. It’s essentially a water playground, with fountains, mini water slides, and even a water cannon! Kids 4-feet and under can enjoy this splash zone.

This area is definitely more exciting than the Bay Slides. There’s plenty of shallow water for splashing, and a small beach area provides more fun and entertainment. Many guardians appreciate having an area just for smaller children away from the activities that require more advanced swimming skills.

7. Keelhaul Falls

Keelhaul Falls is a single-rider tube slide that often has short lines, especially early in the morning. This ride is suitable for all heights and ages, so everyone in the family can enjoy!

This ride is designed to mimic a journey down white water rapids with a lot less danger. You’ll go through caverns and waterfalls before landing in the splash pool at the very end. Keelhaul Falls is a good middle of the road attraction that provides mild thrills without being too scary.

6. Miss Adventure Falls

If your family or group wants to hop on a ride together, they can enjoy Miss Adventure Falls, a 4-person raft ride. Another attraction open to all, this ride is “owned” by Captain Mary Oceaneer whose treasure was scattered thanks to the typhoon.

As you journey down the slide you might notice some of her artifacts scattered about. Watch out for the waterfalls! This ride is a good pick for families with kids who want to experience a raft ride but aren’t ready to ride one alone just yet.

5. Mayday Falls

Mayday Falls is a single-rider tube slide whose claim to fame is being both the highest and longest water slide at Typhoon Lagoon. Get ready for high speeds with plenty of bumps!

This is the most intense raft ride thanks to its height, bumps, and many twists and turns. One thing to keep in mind is that due to its height it’s a bit of a haul up the stairs, especially considering you’ll be carrying your inner tube. However, many guests agree the trek is worth it!

4. Crush ‘n’ Gusher

Another spot with multiple slides, Crush ‘n’ Gusher is more of a roller coaster-raft ride combo and is a popular choice for favorite ride in Typhoon Lagoon. When you embark you’re sailing into an abandoned fruit-processing plant — you’ll get to pick from three different “fruit chutes” before plummeting down.

Each tube holds 2 people, so grab your favorite trip buddy and hop in! Several guests shared that no matter which chute they picked they still had a great time. If you like fast-moving slides where you’re fully zooming down to the bottom, don’t skip this one.

3. Gangplank Falls

The second of the park’s group rides, Gangplank Falls allows guests to ride an oversized inner tube on a beautiful route down the side of a mountain. The entire slide is nearly 300-feet long and plenty wide, so expect a lot of twisting and turning as you make your way down.

While this ride doesn’t offer much in the way of thrills, it’s still a great family ride. Even those who prefer more adventurous slides can enjoy Gangplank Falls. It’s still relatively fast (not as slow as a lazy river) plus you get to ride a conveyor belt up to the top!

2. Castaway Creek

Speaking of lazy rivers, Castaway Creek is coming in at number 2 on this ranking. Plenty of guests like to use water park days as a chance to relax, and there are few things more relaxing than lounging in a tube as you meander along this slow-moving course.

Reviewers shared they like to take a break from all of the excitement of a Disney vacation by floating along Castaway Creek. There’s plenty of shade, lovely scenery, and thanks to its never ending loop you can close your eyes and relax as long as you need.

1. Surf Pool

Wave pools are a water park staple. That’s one reason why guests love Typhoon Lagoon’s Surf Pool! Guests of all ages can wade in to the depth they’re comfortable with and cool off from the Florida heat. While some might think wave pools aren’t exciting, this isn’t your average one!

Many reviewers noted how surprised they were at how great this wave pool is. We wouldn’t say the waves are massive (they wouldn’t sweep anyone away) but they are much stronger than your typical wave pool. The deeper you venture into the pool, the stronger the waves get, so you’re not just floating on the surface slightly bobbing up every so often. The Surf Pool is great for people of all ages and the perfect area to rest in between rides!

There’s plenty to see and do at Typhoon Lagoon, and keep in mind that one ride that might suit one group might not be someone else’s cup of tea. Try out different attractions; you never know, you just might find a new favorite!
