Heading to Disney World soon? You’ll need to decide where to stay during your vacation!
Lots of guests opt to stay at one of the Disney-owned hotels, which have perks like free transportation to and from the parks and fun Disney theming. However, those hotels are generally more expensive than the non-Disney hotels you can find nearby. Come with us to explore the Drury Plaza Hotel — a non-Disney-owned hotel that’s still close to the parks and offers many of the same perks found at those Disney resorts!
Let’s start with the basics: where exactly IS the Drury Plaza Hotel?
Location
The Drury Plaza Hotel is a Disney Springs-area resort, and it’s located about a half mile away from Disney Springs.
That puts it about 5 miles away from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, 6 miles from EPCOT, and 8 miles from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
So wherever you’re headed in Disney World, you can likely get there in under 10 minutes (depending on traffic, of course).
Price
The price is one of the main reasons that you might choose to stay at this resort. Unlike the Disney-owned hotels in this area, you can often find rooms for less than $200 per night at Drury Plaza Hotel.
When we looked at rooms a month out, we only saw a few options. One room with a King-sized bed was about $250 per night, and a suite with two Queen-sized beds was $300 per night. However, when we looked a few months ahead (which was June in this case), there were several options for rooms with double or Queen-sized beds for less than $200 per night.
Looking even further ahead, we saw the same rooms available at about $150 per night, with several options for rooms with King-sized beds at $215 per night and suites available in the price range of $230 to $280.
Note that the Disney-owned Value Resorts are similar to this in price (and frequently cheaper), but they don’t have the location advantage that Drury Plaza Hotel has. Being a half-mile from Disney Springs is a pretty good place to be if you plan to take advantage of all the shopping and dining opportunities there.
Still, if you’re not as concerned with being close to Disney Springs, make sure to check out those Value Resorts! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort have the advantage of a Disney Skyliner station, which could help you get to certain parks faster than the buses usually can.
Disney Perks
The biggest difference between this hotel and Disney-owned hotels is the free perks offered at those Disney hotels. However, you might be surprised to realize that many of the Disney perks are offered at the Drury Plaza Hotel as well. For example, there is a free shuttle service between this hotel and all four of the Disney World theme parks.
Also, guests at the Drury Plaza Hotel can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, meaning they can get into the Disney World theme parks 30 minutes before they open every day. Extended Evening Hours are NOT available to guests at Drury Plaza — that perk is reserved for guests at Disney’s Deluxe hotels only, as well as the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels and Shades of Green Resort. (Extended Evening Hours aren’t offered to guests at Disney’s Value and Moderate hotels, either.)
There are some perks and discounts offered to Disney World Annual Passholders and Florida residents, too.
Annual Passholder Perks
Drury Plaza Hotel offers Disney World Annual Passholders up to a 15% discount off their “Best Flexible Rate.” You must book through the Drury website to take advantage of this deal.
Annual Passholders staying at the Drury Plaza Hotel can make Park Pass Reservations for the length of their visit, which means they don’t have to use their allotted passes during that trip.

Ready to see it all?
Here’s a look at the entryway from the inside, with the sliding bathroom door on the left and a closet on the right.
Turning around, you’ll see the bathroom on the right and a vanity area on the left.
This is a multi-purpose area with several features.
This closet has space to hang some clothes…
…with several wooden hangers.
Next to it, you’ll find an ironing board and iron.
The area beside the closet has a few amenities.
There’s some Orlando-themed art…
…a coffee maker…
…an ice bucket with some individually wrapped plastic cups…
…a safe…
…a microwave…
…and a mini fridge.
Emphasis on the MINI — this fridge has room for a few items and drinks, but not much more.
There’s a small seat fitted in the space below the safe.
To the right, there’s a vanity area that someone can use even if someone else is in the bathroom. That makes coordinating bathroom time to get ready in the morning much easier!
There’s a simple sink…
…with some facial soap…
…a hand towel…
…and a mirror that has a bright light above it.
Turning around, the bathroom has a large sliding door.
Let’s check it out!
The vanity has a single sink.
The mirror has a lighted frame, and there’s a main overhead light in this bathroom as well.
Here’s a closer look at the vanity…
…with the sink…
…some soap and lotion…
…tissues…
…and hand towels.
Underneath, there’s some storage space for your toiletries…
…a hair dryer…
…and of course the toilet paper.
The toilet is…well…it’s just a toilet.
There’s some artwork here as well, with four bath towels.
There’s a walk-in shower as well with sliding glass doors.
Here’s a look at the showerhead…
…and the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
There’s a small shelf in the corner of the shower…
…and a slanted handrail as well.
Back inside the main room, there’s a desk and storage space.
You’ll find a suitcase stand beside the desk.
The desk is fairly large, so you could comfortably work here if you needed to.
There’s a lamp…
…a phone…
…and a couple of outlets, including a USB outlet.
Plenty of room!
Here’s a look at the desk chair.
The television is situated above the desk, right across the room from the bed.
There’s some more Florida-inspired art beside the desk.
There are several drawers beside the desk for storage.
Here’s a look inside one!
To the right, there’s a small seating area with a lamp and table.
There are two chairs…
…and a round table.
Our table had an advertisement for the Kitchen + Bar restaurant…
…complete with the menu on the back.
The window had two layers of curtains.
Here’s an overview of the room!
It’s a decent-sized space, with plenty of room between the bed, desk, and seating area.
Here’s the bed…
…which has a headboard made with a leather-typer material.
There’s a barrier all around the bottom of the bed so you don’t lose stray socks down there.
The nightstand has a lamp…
…some more outlets right beside the bed…
…and a drawer.
There are two nightstands, one on each side.
One had an alarm clock, which has more outlets on top of it.
You can adjust the thermostat in your room as well.
Our room came with a welcome pamphlet, which had lots of information about the nearby Disney Springs.
There were advertisements from some of the restaurants and other spots at the Springs…
…as well as a map…
…and directory.
