At one point, Frozen was ranked as the 5th highest grossing movie of all time. While its current ranking of 19 is just enough to keep it in the top 20, Frozen II, its sequel, currently rests even higher at number 13.

With such a successful franchise it was only a matter of time before Disney brought us back to Arendelle!
Yesterday Disney announced a few sequels and follow-ups in the works, including another Frozen film. While that was all they shared at this point, there are a few other tidbits of information we know about the upcoming film!
Olaf!!!
As far as returning cast members, fans will be happy to know that it appears Olaf will be gracing our screens again! It seems that Josh Gad just couldn’t wait, tweeting out yesterday evening about how excited he is for the next movie.

Speaking of unknowns, neither Kristen Bell or Idina Menzel have confirmed their return yet. The next film isn’t even listed on IMDB at all! Both actors have shared in the past that they would love to reprise these roles, so we’re still holding out hope.
The Cold Doesn’t Bother Them Anyway
Another big question is what will the storyline be? Last we left them, Anna took her place as Queen of Arendelle and Elsa took on the role of protector of the Enchanted Forest. While many questions were answered during the course of the film, there are still many others the next movie could explore. At the moment, the plot of Frozen III remains a mystery.

The biggest question yet to be revealed is when the new movie will premiere. Six years went by between the release of the original Frozen and its sequel, and with the upcoming workforce reduction it could mean even more time before the next movie is released. Honestly, as long as it doesn’t take over sixty years (the first time the story for Frozen was pitched was way back in the 1940s!), we’ll be happy.
