It’s really no secret that I’m completely in love with the Disneyland Hotel. It’s always been my very favorite of all of Disney’s hotels, even including the hotels at Walt Disney World.
Many years ago, when the Mickey Mouse Penthouse was created, I thought it might be fun to stay there someday with my family. Classic Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are my favorite Disney characters, and this swanky signature suite is just loaded with everything Mickey that you could ever imagine.
As many of you might know, my husband and I just moved into a new (to us) house in the Pacific Northwest, and seeing some of the photos of this suite got me thinking, would you ever decorate your house like this?
While I do like certain aspects of this living room and dining room area, some of it might be a bit too much, even for me. I love the animator’s desk and the wall behind it full of black and white sketches, but I’d like it a whole lot better if it was in an office rather than out in the main living area. Those bar stools are cute, though, and I love Walt Disney’s quote on the wall above them. But again, I think it would be a bit much for my own house.
Now I do love the red Mickey Mouse chairs below, and the black and white floor lamp is really the cutest. I could probably go for those in a cozy little reading corner somewhere in my house.
The huge Mickey Mouse head cutout in the ceiling is a pretty cool lighting feature that I might be inclined to have put into my rec room downstairs if money was no object, of course.
This suite has two bedrooms, one for adults and one that’s more for kids or young at heart. I could be swayed to have the gray carpeting put into a room in my house because there are lots of Hidden Mickeys that can be found there. The color is nice and neutral, which totally works for me.
I could one-hundred percent find spots in my home for some of the artwork above the bed, but that would likely be about it. I tend to gravitate toward a more farmhouse style, so the contemporary black lacquer wouldn’t particularly be my style. I do love the silhouette of Mickey Mouse on the sliding doors to the bathroom. That image of Mickey appears only when the warm water of the shower hits the tiled wall!
I absolutely love the master bath and could get completely behind having a similar design in my home. It’s simple and functional. I enjoy having a separate shower in my master with a large soaking tub. The black and white artwork on the walls ties in with what’s in the bedroom area too, and I love that.
I like this second bedroom and could see one of the bedrooms in my house decorated like this. I actually like the subtle, polka-dotted wallpaper and what appears to be a yellow-striped wallpaper on another wall.
I do feel like the entertainment center would be too much, even though it’s super cute, but I am in love with the Mickey Mouse artwork above the bed! That is one of the cutest drawings ever, and I’d buy it right this minute if I could!!
While the majority of the second bathroom is way too over-the-top for my taste, there is one little aspect of it that I am completely in love with and, to be honest, I’d put it in my kitchen sink if I thought for even one second that I could get away with it. I think my hubby might draw the line with it, though.
I can’t imagine that it’s just a sticker, because that would get ruined in no time, but if it were a metal piece of some sort that could stand the test of time, this little Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse would be in my kitchen sink in half a heartbeat! I’m not even kidding. That is just the cutest thing under the sun, and I want it!
Now that I’ve shared all of my opinions, I’d love to hear yours! Would you decorate your house like this suite?
