“There’s no way to condense 60 years of history into one show or one storyline,” General Hospital co-head writer Dan O’Connor said during a TCA press conference. One of the last remaining soap operas on daytime television, GH began on April 1st, 1963, the brainchild of husband and wife Frank and Doris Hursley. The series has had […]
If you’re looking for a fun dessert, Disney Springs is full of fun options — so you’re sure to find something that will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Salt and Straw in Disney Springs
From Gideon’s Bakehouse, where you can find some of the best cookies in Disney World, to Amorette’s Patisserie, the queen of elevated petit cakes, Disney Springs has something for everyone. But what about those with a more adventurous palate? Salt & Straw is known for pushing the boundaries of ice cream flavors, and this April they are bringing back some of their most interesting flavors for The Vault Series.
Salt & Straw shared on their Instagram this week the latest flavors they would be adding to the lineup in April — The Vault Series.
These flavors are returning classics that they are bringing back to showcase the bold creations that the company is known for. First, we have Honey Marshmallow Rocky Road. In this flavor, local-to-Portland honey is whipped into marshmallows to give it silky, floral hints and then they add to chocolate ice cream.
Next, Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese is one of Tyler’s (head ice cream maker at Salt & Straw) favorite flavors of all time. Oil-cured black olives are used to make a sweet and salty butter brittle, and then they are added to cave-aged goat cheese ice cream to create a decadent mix. This might sound crazy, but it’s a popular choice among foodies — celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern is even a fan.
The next flavor they are reintroducing is Sweet Corn & Waffle Cones where you’ll find caramel ribbons, chocolate-covered waffle cones, and sweet-and-charred corn throughout.
Next up is Strawberry Cilantro Lime Cheesecake. Initially from their berry series, this strawberry ice cream has a graham cracker crust, candied and juiced cilantro, and cheesecake bits.
Finally, for a vegan option, you’ll be able to try Mango Habanero IPA Sorbet. This flavor was originally on the grand opening list in Miami and Salt & Straw worked with local brewery Wynwood Brewing to make it happen.
And there you have it — some of the boldest flavors Salt & Straw has created are back on the menu for a limited time! Since 2011, they have made over 1200 flavors of ice cream, and these are the flavors they chose to showcase who they are, so if you’ve ever wanted to give this place a shot, now might be a perfect time.

An initial wave of layoffs were announced this week, including Mark Levenstein, SVP Production for Hulu; Elizabeth Newman, VP of Development at 20th Television; and Jayne Bieber, SVP Production Management & Operations for Freeform. And now, a longtime Disney publicist and spokesperson has shared that he is among them.
Jeffrey R. Epstein, whom many of us first met as D23’s DisneyGeek, eventually achieved the role of Vice President of Corporate Communications at Disney. Epstein also eventually became a spokesperson for the Official D23 Disney Fan Club, and was co-host of the D23 Inside Disney podcast.
In addition to his work with D23, Jeffrey co-founded Gay Days at Disneyland in 1998 and has continued to grow this event.

In the podcast, Jeffrey shared, “My role is one of those which has been impacted by the layoffs here at Disney. I have had a wonderful time here at Disney and I hope my journey leads me back here someday. In the meantime, I’m still here for a bit, and I’m looking forward to continuing to share the latest Disney news with all of you.”
The second round of notifications for the job cuts will go out later in April. This is expected to result in a larger number of job cuts, “with several thousand more staff reductions.”
The final round of notifications is expected to go out before the start of the summer. That’ll get Disney to its target of 7,000 job cuts.
EPCOT
Disney CEO Bob Iger shared, “The difficult reality of many colleagues and friends leaving Disney is not something we take lightly. This company is home to the most talented and dedicated employees in the world, and so many of you bring a lifelong passion for Disney to your work here.” He offered his thanks to those who will be departing the Company.
Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by these layoffs. We’ll continue to look out for more updates on The Walt Disney Company, so stay tuned to DFB.
Last week, RSVLTS dropped a brand new collection of Marvel apparel, primarily focused on the X-Men, and it is amazing, incredible, fantastic and any other Marvel-related adjective you want to throw in there (though ‘uncanny’ doesn’t really work). It’s happened. We never thought it would actually happen, but we were wrong.
EPCOT
We ran into a terrifying problem in EPCOT today, and, not to be dramatic, but it might mean the end of the world. Seriously, we wouldn’t wish this catastrophe on our worst enemies. It’s that bad.
While we were at EPCOT today, we decided that we needed a refreshing drink to stay hydrated. So of course we headed over to Club Cool.
Club Cool
If you’ve never visited Club Cool before, you’re really missing out. This spot is Coca-Cola themed, and you can find all kinds of branded merchandise for sale. The real highlight, though, is the wall of drink machines where you can sample different beverages from around the world!
Club Cool in EPCOT
Some of these drinks are super tasty and others…not so much. We all have our own opinions about which drink is the best, but almost everyone can agree on which drink is the WORST: the infamous Beverly.
She’s back and worse than ever!
This drink is from Italy, and many people who try it find it to be exceptionally bitter (although there are some people who love it). Overall, it’s not a popular choice and we’ve even seen many guests intentionally trick their friends into trying it because they know it’ll be a surprising and unpleasant experience.
Coca Cola Cup
However, today WE were the ones who were surprised by an unpleasant experience: ALL of the drinks at Club Cool were gone EXCEPT for Beverly!
They’re ALL. GONE.
We’ve seen this spot temporarily run out of certain drinks from time to time, but usually there are at least a few different options to choose from. Not today.
Nope — every single flavor on EVERY machine was marked as unavailable except for the only one that we really can’t stand. All of the little signs said “Please Try Another Flavor” but what were we supposed to do?! We felt like they were mocking us.
AHHH
If this happens to you when you visit EPCOT, know that we can empathize with your terrible misfortune. You can purchase some drinks inside Club Cool at the counter towards the back of the store, and that might be the way to go if you want a refreshing and tasty beverage. Or you can head to World Showcase and try drinks from around the world at the various pavilions there!
World Showcase
Another option would be to visit the Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar in Disney Springs to find more interesting drinks and even some cocktails. This spot also has the option to sample drinks from around the world, but you must pay for the drinks here (unlike at Club Cool in EPCOT).
