The new Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant is finally open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we’re bringing you all the details about this new restaurant.
While we are sharing some photos from the opening and saw what the crowds have looked like today, we wanted to tell you about a few details you’ll want to keep your eyes (and ears) out for if you dine here!
Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a brand new restaurant at Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. Like the rest of this land, the restaurant is intricately themed with colorful decor and fun details. We’re here on the opening day of the restaurant to let you know about some of the best details that you won’t want to miss.
Ever heard of the whole “Andy’s Coming” fiasco? This was a BIG deal a few years ago. A while back, a photo began circulating the internet and it ultimately went viral. The photo featured Toy Story characters in a Disney park laying down on the ground. The caption indicated that if guests yelled the phrase “Andy’s coming!” the characters would fall down. The photo was allegedly staged by a Cast Member and taken out of context once it began to spread. Ultimately, its viral nature led to many guests shouting the phrases at the characters in the park. It would be dangerous (and painful! and dirty!) to have this happen constantly though, so guests may have been left seriously disappointed when they visited.
Well, the new Toy Story restaurant has brought this trend to life in the best way. In the restaurant, the servers will sometimes announce that “Andy’s Coming!” and everyone is supposed to freeze in place while a sound plays overhead of Andy talking to his mom looking for his cowboy belt. What a fun way to make the viral trend a real thing in the parks!

But wait — there’s another cool detail that happened while we were eating here. There is audio that plays where Sarge, one of the green army men, announces a yard sale, just like in the Toy Story movie. The servers all panic! It turns out to be just a false alarm, though, and Sarge announces that it’s actually a lemonade stand, not a yard sale. Our server then brought us out some lemonade that he snuck from Andy while he wasn’t looking. How cute!
There are so many fun details in the decor all over this restaurant. We thought the giant outlet hanging from the ceiling was a cool touch!
The benches in the outside waiting area are made from wooden train track pieces!
All the details really help make you feel like a toy in Andy’s backyard!
We love the theming and the effort put into this design! Be sure to follow DFB for more photos, videos, and news from Roundup Rodeo BBQ!
