7.3 MILLION Reasons To AVOID the Orlando Airport

Spring is in the air, which means many of us are about to be wheels-up, headed toward our magical spring getaway! And traveling alongside us is every. single. person. that we know.

Let’s go somewhere fun!

Yep, grab your kids, your parents, your grandma, your neighbor, your great-aunt Ruth, and probably a few more people — it’s time for Spring Break! This is a SUPER popular time to travel, so get ready for major CROWDS to come along on your tropical getaway.

The Orlando Airport shared a tweet to help spring break flyers get an idea of what the airport will look like throughout this spring break season. They predict that 7.3 million travelers are expected to come through MCO during a 46-day Spring Break travel period. You read that right — 67.3 MILLION. They also shared the top five busiest days to travel: March 11th, March 18th, March 25th, April 1st, and April 8th (all Saturdays, of course).

If you’re traveling this spring break, make sure you’re paying attention to crucial details such as popular travel dates, estimated airport traffic numbers, and flight times so that the crowds don’t ruin your trip. Missing a flight because of airport traffic or security lines is no fun, and the Orlando International Airport (MCO) has you covered when it comes to staying prepared.

With these high-traffic days will likely come longer security lines, but we have a tip on how to navigate that! The Orlando Airport recently announced that the hours for MCO Reserve would be extended, allowing guests the opportunity to SKIP the security line (as long as they reserve their spot ahead of time — learn how to do that here). MCO Reserve is available from 6:30AM to 8:30PM each day.
