Today is the day!
I woke up at 4:55 am in extreme pain, and I knew immediately that I was having contractions. Tim and I were preparing to welcome our second child, and we were so excited! However, things happened much faster and differently than they did with our first child. By 6 o’clock in the morning, we were in the car, headed to the hospital to welcome our baby boy.
When my contractions started, I began keeping track of them on my phone. They were coming faster and faster, and I knew it was time to go to the hospital. Tim and I quickly gathered our things and headed out the door. We live close to the hospital, so we were able to get there quickly. However, I was in so much pain that I was afraid I would fall down the stairs.
When we arrived at the hospital, I was already 7 centimeters dilated, which is pretty close to being ready to give birth. I told the nurse that I needed an epidural right away, but they had to run some tests to make sure my blood was okay before I could have the epidural. By the time I finally received the epidural, it was almost too late.
Thankfully, the hospital staff did a fantastic job, and I was able to give birth to our baby boy just 20 minutes later. It was an intense and exhilarating experience, and we are so grateful to have our little bundle of joy in our lives.
Jackson was so excited to meet baby Oliver and welcomed him to the family! Be sure to watch the video to hear more about our experience and new addition to the family!
