In celebration of the season 3 premiere, the Mandalorian and Grogu made a surprise appearance today in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Whereas Din Djarin and his foundling make daily appearances at Disneyland park, they (and others like Boba Fett and Fennec Shand) were reportedly never to appear on the east coast. This is due to the less flexible timeframe for Black Spire Outpost and its involvement in the plot for Galactic Starcruiser guests.

So far, the characters and theming on Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge have been beholden to the short time period between the events of “Episode VIII” and “Episode IX.”
