While addressing Universal Team Members in an internal video, Mark Woodbury, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Universal Parks & Resorts, announced that the division will change its name to Universal Destinations & Experiences.
“When I started with the company, our division was called Universal Recreation Services Group,” stated Woodbury. “We had Hollywood Studio Tour and National Park concessions. When we expanded east to Orlando and added hotels, we changed our name to Universal Parks & Resorts. Now this continued growth and transformation brings with it a new opportunity to express our unique offerings to guests, team members, and partners in a new way. So, I am thrilled to officially announce that we are changing the name of our division from Universal Parks & Resorts to Universal Destinations & Experiences.”
Woodbury went on to say that he believes that Universal Destinations & Experiences “captures the thrilling place Universal holds in the hearts and minds of our audiences.” And says that the new name change further differentiates them from “any and all competitors today and in the future.”
