Though Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges and Wimpy’s have reopened in Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Me Ship, The Olive remains closed for refurbishment. We saw crews touching up the paint on the ship’s funnel.
Me Ship, The Olive is a water play area with slides, nets, and interactive games.
Scaffolding currently surrounds the funnel and we saw three crew members painting during our most recent visit.
The funnel features a giant image of Olive Oyl’s face. Popeye is pictured painting “SS Olive” below her likeness.
Two crew members were working on the lettering.
Another crew member was working on Olive Oyl.
