DeSantis Appointee for Disney Suggests Tap Water Could Turn People Gay

More trouble is brewing in the Ron DeSantis camp after an already controversial week. The latest news, reported by CNN, is about one of the appointees that DeSantis has assigned to the oversight committee and one of his personal (and questionable) beliefs. Reportedly, one of the five people to now oversee the Reedy Creek Improvement District, Ron Peri, an Orlando-based former pastor, not only called homosexuality “evil,” but now he claims that tap water can cause people to be gay.

“An appointee to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new oversight board in control of Disney’s special tax district called homosexuality “evil” last year and shared a baseless conspiracy theory that tap water could be making more people gay.”

If you read the article linked above, you can go on to see that Peri attributes the belief to estrogen in tap water as a result of contraceptive pills. We’ll refrain from quoting any more of it here, but you can click through to the CNN article and read the rest of the article at your own free will.
