Spring Break season has officially kicked off.
That means we’re starting to see crowds in Disney World. That means guests visiting Disney World over this period will have a more difficult time making advance dining reservations, park pass reservations, and more. That also means that Genie+ is going to cost more due to demand.
Spring Break crowds also mean longer lines for rides, so Genie+ could be a huge timesaver if you’re visiting the parks soon. However, Genie+ is going to cost a bit more. On March 7th, Genie+ was just $17. However, yesterday, March 11th, Genie+ was $25. Today, though, Genie+ is back up to $29 per person.
That means Disney expects demand to be greater for the feature. If you’re visiting Disney World, you will also want to make sure you grab Genie+ as early as possible before it sells out for the day if having that feature is a priority for you and your party. Even though it could be pricey, it could be something to consider purchasing if you don’t want to spend your entire time at Disney World in lines.
However, you’ll also need to realize that Genie+ doesn’t include EVERY ride in Disney World. Some premium rides will actually cost an additional amount per person to access the Lightning Lane for them. Those prices are also at their highest today: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom is $12, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT is $17, Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is $25, and Flight of Passage is $16.
If you are on a budget, your best bet is to prioritize those rides you MUST ride and decide if Genie+ will help you save time. You could skip Genie+ and just use the Individual Lightning Lane option to ride the premium rides and then focus the rest of your time on rides with less demand. A little planning can go a long way in helping you save time and money.
We’ll continue to monitor the price of Genie+ over Spring Break and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
