It’s official, the long refurbishment of Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland is finally coming to an end! The attraction will reopen at last this week.
According to the Orange County Register, Indiana Jones Adventure will finally reopen on Friday, March 17. A lucky St. Patrick’s Day indeed.
Indiana Jones Adventure previously closed on January 9 for a much-needed refurbishment including replacement of the King Cobra animatronic figure. Disney has remained cagey about a reopening date for the attraction other than “spring 2023.”
Per the Register, the attraction closed for “seasonal refurbishment and maintenance to address behind-the-scenes and guest-facing updates to audio-animatronics and other special effects — but not any significant changes from a story standpoint.” The last refurbishment for the ride was in 2020, when the collapsing bridge was replaced among other issues.
As we near the ride’s 30th anniversary, having opened in 1995, you can check out a full history of the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland and its cousin at Tokyo DisneySea!
