When is the BEST time to go to Disney World?!
Well, that answer totally depends on YOU. Do you want to avoid crowds at all costs? Don’t visit during summer or spring break. Do you want to be in the crowds on the opening day of TRON Lightcycle / Run? Prepare for busy parks. If you are someone who is seeking lower crowds and wait times on a Disney World trip, right now might be the best time to visit Disney World!
Although we’ve seen wait times spike recently, the are on a downhill slide right now! The wait times have significantly dropped since last week and many rides have hit manageable average wait times. That being said, there are still the few popular rides that you may want to buy Individual Lightning Lanes for.
Genie+ is Disney’s paid skip-the-line system that allows you to book a time to use the Lightning Lane for a faster wait time. At one popular attraction in each park, you can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane to bypass the line at that specific ride. The price varies depending on the day, but these are the rides where this option is available:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT
- Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Take a look at what the wait times were like in Disney World this week!
Magic Kingdom
Starting over in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time with 68 minutes. Last week the average wait time was 94 minutes, so this wait time has decreased BIG TIME this week.

After that, average wait times had Haunted Mansion at 35 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 30 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 28 minutes, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 29 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 27 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean at 25 minutes.
