If you’ve been wondering whether you should take the plunge and get that backpack from your wish list you’ll want to do your research first.

Loungefly is a brand that takes their inspiration from pop-culture. Their designs can take the form of prints and more subtle designs all the way up to full-on cosplay styles inspired by our favorite characters, movies, as well as Disney parks and attractions! 

While their backpacks are the most popular item, Loungefly creates not just backpacks but other accessories like purses, wallets, and even ear headbands! Often they’ll create several coordinating pieces with a central theme so you can have a matching set.

We think these bags are a great middle of the road choice — there’s plenty space inside for your belongings and even some additional in-park purchases, but they aren’t unwieldy and won’t get in the way when you’re standing in line or making your way through the park crowds. Plus, you can’t deny they’re a cute accessory for your outfits!

You actually have a few different choices when it comes to purchasing your Loungefly bags. Loungefly sells their newest Disney designs in the parks at a variety of locations, like the Emporium in Magic Kingdom and Creations Shop in EPCOT.

Online, you’re even more spoilt for choice! Loungefly has their own website that you can purchase from, or you can check out only Disney designs on shopDisney. Amazon also carries the brand and even sometimes has exclusive designs you can only purchase from them! You can also find them on other sites like Box Lunch, Hot Topic, and other places that sell pop culture items.

Loungefly Reviews

It’s one thing to see a picture on a website or hold a bag in a store; the ultimate test is how these bags fare when actually in use! One Amazon reviewer shared: “If you’ve never seen one in person, they do hold a lot and are more comfortable than carrying a purse all day. You can use as-is, or buy an organizer for them which has a water bottle holder – very convenient if you don’t want to buy a $4 bottle of water every couple of hours at the parks.”

Adding an organizer might be helpful. While some bags have a small interior pocket, others don’t, which may be a disappointment like it was for one reviewer who posted: “My only complaint & the reason I deducted 1 Star is bc there aren’t any pockets on the Inside of the bag. I would have liked to have at least 1-2 pockets for small things instead of everything accumulating in one place at the bottom.” If you are planning on carrying more than a few items into the park keep this in mind! Most of their bags do have two exterior slip pockets (one on each side) as well as a smaller front pocket with a zipper closure to help with organization.

There’s no denying these bags can carry a fair amount, though. Another reviewer stated, “It holds more than I expected. I fit in a long sleeved, full length poncho, a wallet, gift cards glasses, size 8 sandals, my husbands galaxy note which is way bigger than my iPhone 12 mini, and a wireless charger. No problem closing it … So worth the money.” Plenty of reviewers noted how sturdy their bags are which is something we have noticed with ours as well, but remember this will depend on the material! Many of their backpacks are a faux leather but some designs feature softer fabrics that will be more pliable.

One thing that almost all of the reviews have in common? These bags are beautiful and they are rarely let down once they receive theirs in person. If anything, reviewers have commented that the online pictures often don’t do the actual designs justice! Overall, if you are searching for a new park bag that has both form AND function, you may want to give a Loungefly mini backpack a chance.
