Approximately 2-1/2 years into the life of Disney+, the streaming service’s record for content that focuses on the Disney Parks is … a bit mixed. While there have been great full-length original series like The Imagineering Story and Behind the Attraction (which we’ve already covered in some depth), there’s also some vintage material from the […]
The first Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge at Disneyland Resort will open on April 19, 2023.
Inspired by Walt Disney’s Walt Disney’s optimistic vision for the future, the brand-new “space” named “Disney Vacation Club Star View Station – a Member Lounge” is coming to Tomorrowland at Disneyland park. The lounge will also be home to historic Disney items, such as the K7 Space Suit worn by the Tomorrowland Astronauts during the early years of Disneyland, and the Space Station S-1 Model from the “Disneyland” television series.
Inside the lounge, members can find amenities, including a dedicated Disney Vacation Club Member Services team, seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, device-charging stations, and complimentary soft drinks.
The new “space” is available for all eligible* Disney Vacation Club members with valid theme park tickets and reservations to Disneyland park. It’s located in the space on the second floor of the Star Wars: Launch Bay building.
Exclusive Member spaces have been part of what Disney Vacation Club calls “Membership Magic.” From the Top of the World Lounge, which recently reopened with villainous new offerings atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, to the Member Lounge perched in the iconic glass pyramid of the Imagination! pavilion at EPCOT.
Disney Vacation Club at Disneyland Resort
This newest addition to Disney Vacation Club offerings includes rooms and villas with Disney-inspired décor and theming. The space is intended to feel modern and inspire creativity.
Just like other offerings from Disney Vacation Club, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel include “at-home comforts” consisting of amenities for guests to do their own laundry, cook food in a real kitchen, and enjoy a little extra private space for their family during their trip.
A “Steamboat Willie”-themed splash pad area for kids will be near the pool.
Inside the rooms, the design aesthetic is heavily influenced by an animator’s process. For much of the design, the Imagineers studied the techniques of Walt Disney himself. This room was inspired by 1959’s “Sleeping Beauty,” with individual elements and concept art used for the aesthetic, as well as the headboard. And the color palette of the room is taken from the film as well.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will open to the public starting September 28, 2023. The rooms in this hotel tower are themed around both classic and modern Disney animated films including “Bambi,” “Fantasia,” “The Jungle Book,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Frozen,” and “Moana.” The hotel includes two pools, the Monorail Pool and a new pool being constructed on the west side of the resort.
Rooms are available in five categories – Duo Studio Room, Deluxe Studio Room, One Bedroom Villas, Two Bedroom, Villas. and Three Bedroom Grand Villas. Some rooms such as the Duo Studio Room, are only available with standard views. Deluxe Room Studios are offered with standard or preferred views, while the larger villas seem to be only offered with preferred views. See more concept art (and pricing) for the room styles here.

Throughout the 50th Anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World, we’ve been sharing some of our favorite memories from the resort’s history, like the dedication of Magic Kingdom Park by Roy O. Disney and the creation of fan-favorite attractions and transportation vehicles by retired Walt Disney Imagineer and Disney Legend Bob Gurr. While the 18-month event […]
If it is, WE get it. Dessert is EVERYTHING. Now, we’ve already asked you about the best desserts in ALL of Disney World, and we’ve even told you about our picks for the best desserts in Magic Kingdom. So let’s mosey on over to EPCOT to determine which sweet snacks you should be indulging in when you visit.
We’ll admit that much of our list takes you around World Showcase, so if you’re wanting to do a “best desserts around the WORLD” kind of crawl, this would be a good — and fun — way to start! So let’s see which desserts made our cut!
School Bread
Our first stop is in Norway, where we’re popping into Kringla Bakeri og Kafe to indulge in an old favorite. We’re talking about the CLASSIC School Bread. This is a Fluffy Sweet Roll filled with Custard and dipped in Coconut, and although it sounds simple, it’s a beautifully done dessert that makes us smile every time we indulge in it.
You can’t pass through the Germany pavilion without getting a whiff of the sweet caramel scents wafting out of Karamel-Küche. Absolutely everything in there is a delight, but one dessert here ALWAYS has us coming back for more. The Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Cookie Sandwich is made of two soft gingerbread cookies with a buttercream frosting center and salted caramel drizzle.
This cookie is EVERYTHING
This cookie was once only offered seasonally, but it’s since been added to the permanent menu for Karamel-Kuche, which means we can enjoy it any time we want.
We’re going to STAY in Germany a little while longer and continue smelling the wonderful scents at Karamel-Kuche. This time, we’re grabbing the Werthers Original Caramel Butter Bar. It’s a delicious buttery shortbread with caramel, and it is DELICIOUS.
Before we leave Germany, we’re also going to pop on over to Sommerfest and grab a relatively new dessert, the Pretzel Bread Pudding. It’s made with leftover pretzels and topped with caramel butterscotch and a white cream sauce. This treat is both tasty AND unique!
Pretzel Bread Pudding
Warning: This is a very DENSE bread pudding, but it also really packs a lot of great caramel and cinnamon flavor.
Next up, take a trip over to France and visit L’Artisan des Glaces. Here, you’ll want to get the Croque Glacé, which is your choice of ice cream and sauce pressed into a warm homemade brioche. It’s an ice cream sandwich that’s both warm and cold, and it is EXQUISITE.
Croque Glace
The best part is that you can customize the flavors inside the brioche to make the ice cream creation of your dreams.
Hang around, though, because you can also get one of our favorite BOOZY drinks in Disney World. L’Artisan des Frances makes an AMAZING Ice Cream Martini. You can choose two scoops of your favorite ice cream flavor, and get it served with a shot of Grand Marnier, and either Whipped Cream Vodka or Rum. YUM!
Ice Cream Martini in Epcot’s France
It’s a boozy drink AND dessert rolled all into one.
But wait! Before you leave this little ice cream shop, there’s one more dessert you’ll want to try here. It’s the Macaron. Now, we’re sure you’re familiar with the traditional French macaron. Well, here, you can get a gigantic macaron…stuffed with ice cream.
Giant macarons!
The usual flavor is Chocolate, but there are also some seasonal flavors you can get (we especially love Pumpkin!).
Is there anything better on a hot day than shaved ice? Well, head on over to Japan’s Kabuki Cafe to get a Shaved Ice done Japan style. A Kakigōri is a traditional Japanese Shaved Ice, and you can get it in a variety of flavors, including Rainbow, Strawberry, Melon, Cherry, Tangerine, or Blue Raspberry.
Rainbow kakigori
You can also get a Kakigōri with Sweet Milk Topping if you want an extra bit of sweetness to your shaved ice.
In Morocco, you can get the best dessert here in TWO locations. The Pistachio Baklava can be found at Oasis Sweets & Sips. It’s so light, flaky, and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness.
Okay, it’s finally time to head OUT of World Showcase and into the rest of EPCOT. We’re going to head on over to Sunshine Seasons and pick up the Turtle Brownie. It’s a dense chocolate brownie, topped with caramel covered in chocolate frosting, pecans, and chocolate chips.
Turtle Brownie from Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT!
This brownie is chock full of flavor: chocolate, caramel, and pecans! We’re not always fans of the brownies in Disney World, but this one is a real winner!
Finally, we’re heading over to Connections Cafe, EPCOT’s newest eatery to grab a Liège Waffle. Now a Liège Waffle isn’t an ordinary waffle — it’s a waffle made with a yeast-based Brioche dough with pearls of thick sugar on the outside that caramelize when the waffle cooks. So you get a snack that’s buttery, chewy, and soft on the inside, but crunchy on the outside.
Liege Waffle
Now, the waffle at Connections Cafe is a regular Liège Waffle, while the one at Connections Cafe & Eatery is topped with Strawberries, Whipped Cream, and Chocolate Sauce. Both are AMAZING.
So the next time you’re hanging around EPCOT, be sure to check out these snacks — we promise you won’t be disappointed. And if you DO decide to turn this into a dessert crawl, let us know what your favorites were!
WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! How do you choose (we don’t want to choose but will blow our budget on Day 1 otherwise)? We’ve got you covered! We have reviewed nearly EVERY snack available at Disney World, and we’ve written a series of DFB Guides about them!

Today, while we were at Hollywood Studios, we saw some filming happening near Tower of Terror. We may have spotted the early stages of a commercial or promotion in the works for Disney, and it really caught our interest.
The production crew and cast were hard at work. While we aren’t sure what it is yet, we do know something is coming!
Filming at Tower of Terror
Don’t forget that there is a new film coming out about the Tower of Terror, which stars Scarlett Johansson. We’ve been patiently waiting for more information on the upcoming movie, but Disney hasn’t released many details yet.
