Three introduction shorts and a poster for “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” have been released ahead of the series premiere on May 4, 2023.
Set in the High Republic era, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” is notable for being the first of its kind in the “Star Wars” universe, with a concept specifically geared toward young audiences. Several fans have been excited by this prospect, finally having the potential opportunity to introduce their children to a beloved fandom with less intense but equally qualitative adventures. The story follows a group of Jedi younglings centuries before events witnessed in the prequel trilogy films “as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need, and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way.”
Elliot Bour serves as Supervising Director, with other notable directing work on “Elena of Avalor,” “Kronk’s New Groove,” and “Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo.” Michael Olson is the showrunner, known for his work on “Puppy Dog Pals.” The cast of “Young Jedi Adventures” includes Jamaal Avery Jr. as youngling Kai Brightstar, Emma Berman as pilot/friend Nash Durango, Juliet Donenfeld as youngling Lys Solay, Dee Bradley Baker as youngling Nubs, Jonathan Lipow as droid RJ-83, and Piotr Michael as Master Yoda.
The three shorts are available on the Disney Junior YouTube channel. They will be available on Disney+ on April 26. Watch the first short below.

Another day, another Disney firing headline. After yesterday’s farewell of Jeffrey R. Epstein, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Disney, a new heavyweight was in the firing line today. Marvel Entertainment Chairman, Ike Perlmutter, has been let go from his position. Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter, who is the 80-year-old Chairman of the division, was reportedly deemed “redundant,” with a New York Times article confirming it would be “folded into larger Disney business units.”
Though Perlmutter has a long-standing history with Marvel and Disney, most recently, he was instrumental in the shakeup with Nelson Peltz, who unsuccessfully challenged The Walt Disney Company for a seat on the board.

If you want to add a little bit of extra wonder to your already wondrous Disney100 day at Disneyland, you can stop by the popcorn cart in the Hub to pick up this new Purple Mickey Balloon Disney100 Popcorn Bucket!
Purple Mickey Mouse Balloon Bucket – $19.50
The new popcorn bucket is available for $19.50 plus tax, and includes a bucketful of regular popcorn at the time of purchase.
The new bucket is a shiny purple color with Mickey Mouse’s face printed at the front, true to the color scheme of the 100 Years of Wonder celebration. Its contrasting silver with purple face version is available at the same cart. Now you and whoever you’re with can have similar but contrasting designs!
The design on the front is the classic Mickey Mouse face seen on the iconic balloons which inspired the bucket, rather than the newer art style used in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Mickey’s Toontown.
The back side reads “Disney 100 Years of Wonder” on the door, which is located on the top half. There is no special art on the ears. Just below, “Disney Parks” is written in plastic.
The strap is silver with purple text and designs. The Disney100 logo and “100 Years of Wonder” are repeated with starbursts and pixie dust trails between.
The Disney100 celebration kicked off on January 27 at Disneyland Resort, and features new attractions, entertainment, food and merchandise across both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The celebration will soon expand to Walt Disney World as well once its 50th Anniversary celebration concludes this week.
Guests visiting during the celebration will find two major new entertainment offerings at both parks. First up is “World of Color — ONE” at Disney California Adventure. This all-new nighttime spectacular celebrates the storytelling legacy started by Walt Disney, illustrating how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. This is the first Disneyland Resort nighttime spectacular to feature characters, music and moments from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, the Avengers and Star Wars in the same production. You can watch the full show here on Disneyland News Today.
Over at Disneyland, the new “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks spectacular takes the skies nightly. The show transforms Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas with lighting effects, customized projections and more. This nighttime spectacular by Disney Live Entertainment takes you on an epic adventure through 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios storytelling. On select nights, “Wondrous Journeys” takes to the skies with sparkling fireworks. You can watch a full performance of the show here.
Let us know if you’ll pick up this new popcorn bucket in the comments below!
