We’ve made it through the first round of this year’s Mouse Madness tournament and now things are really going to start getting interesting. The field of 16 has been narrowed down to eight as we look to crown the very best film from Walt Disney Animation Studios in celebration of Disney100. Before we move on […]
Did you know that there is a Cooking Class just for kids at Disney Springs? I recently brought my 8-year-old son Johnny to this fun, pint-sized cooking class at Terralina Crafted Italian Restaurant for pizza making. If your little one has a taste for the delicious things in life, you’ll want to check this out! […]
Continuing our popular “year” series, we look at Disneyland as it was in 1993. Both of us were working there. Toontown was newly opened, and Aladdin was making his presence known in a couple of places. The Skyway and Peoplemover were still there… it was a great year to experience the park and a fun […]
Loungefly has announced a new Haunted Mansion backpack at WonderCon in Anaheim, California. To coincide with this new backpack, other accessories and matching gear are accompanying it — including pins, a crossbody bag, and hoodie.
The Haunted Mansion Loungefly Collection
The entire line is inspired by the iconic Haunted Mansion, originally introduced in 1969 at Disneyland Park, followed by a Floridian version at Magic Kingdom in 1971. More specifically, some of these designs utilize art framing the walls of the door-less, window-less stretching room.
“Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination — hmm?” These are the foreboding words uttered by the Ghost Host before embarking on the fan-favorite tour of 999 happy haunts.
Others items have the infamous 13 clock face and Madame Leota. The collection includes a backpack, crossbody bag, pins, and a hoodie.
The collection MAY be available at Disney Parks and on ShopDisney, but no announcement has been made at this time.
The new Loungefly and accompanying trinkets will be hitting the shelves this fall. Learn more about Loungefly’s already-released glow in the dark Haunted Mansion offering here.

We’ve tried it all — the good, the bad, and the ugly, and know which snacks are worth your time and which you should skip. The next time you’ve got a sweet tooth in Disney World, you’ll be prepared because we’re sharing the BEST desserts in Animal Kingdom!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a dessert list without a DOLE Whip right?! The Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip features pineapple Dole Whip topped with a red syrup flavored with strawberry, watermelon, and coconut. You’ll find it at Tamu Tamu Refreshments!
Simba Sunset
It’s a BIG size for a Dole Whip, and it’s delicious too. You can also get it with rum added by ordering the King’s Cooler!
If you’re after something a bit more savory, you’ll want to head to Yak & Yeti. This table-service spot serves up all kinds of Asian fare, but for dessert, you won’t want to miss the Fried Cream Cheese Wontons. These are made with Cream Cheese Wontons and Fresh Pineapple — on skewers!
A win!
And it’s served with Vanilla Ice Cream and a Honey-Vanilla Drizzle. PLUS strawberries! Okay, we’ll stop making you hungry now.
This next dessert is a classic favorite here at DFB — the Mini Mango Pie! You’ll find it at Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe (and maybe your local grocery store, too!) and it is tangy and delicious.
Mini Mango Pie
That thick graham cracker crust could not be better. It’s got just the right amount of saltiness from the butter that’s holding the crumbs together and sweetness from the incorporated sugar. It’s just dynamite! Crust heaven! But fair warning, this item is known to disappear and reappear on the menu depending on availability — so keep that in mind on your next trip!
Mango not your thing? No problem — the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse from Satu’li Canteen might do the trick instead! It’s topped with passion fruit curd and is the perfect combination of tart and sweet.
Dessert or a work of art?
Seriously, don’t let the alien-like nature of this snack fool you — it’s definitely worth a try especially if you’re not a fan of overly sweet desserts.
The Tiger Tail is Animal Kingdom’s answer to the popular Cheshire Cat Tail over at Cheshire Café in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland. It takes your regular chocolate twist and adds some colorful icing to reflect the cat in tribute. In this case, added orange icing makes up the Tiger Tail!
Tiger Tail Chocolate Twist
Just like the Cheshire Cat Tail, the Tiger Tail is a chocolate lover’s treat, as the buttery, light, and flaky pastry twist is positively packed with chocolate bits in addition to the chocolate icing on top.
The next treat on our list is a bit of a controversial one for our team. The Pongu Lumpia at Pongu Pongu is a simple Pineapple Cream Cheese Spring Roll, and fans (it’s us, we’re fans) sure do love it!
This unassuming little snack cart actually serves up one of our favorite Animal Kingdom snacks! At Dino-Bite Snacks, you’ll find a delightful Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. Not only is the original version delicious, but depending on when you visit you might be able to snag a specialty or limited-time treat.
Last but not least is the king of all desserts — The Lion King, that is. Over at Tiffins, you’ll need to snag a reservation if you want to check this treat out, but trust us — it’s worth it. The Lion King consists of Caramel Mousse, Chocolate Brownie, and Strawberry-Mango Sauce.
Look at this beauty!
This dessert has a LOT going on, but the fun flavors work together nicely. It’s on the rich side though, so you could easily share it with someone else OR just go in for dessert and have it to yourself!

Welcome to Disney World!
Now that you’ve got your car into the “Most Magical Place On Earth,” it’s time to think about the un-magical side of this Disney World vacation — PARKING.
If you’re taking your car with you on your Disney World vacation, you’re going to need to know about the parking situation ahead of time. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as just pulling into a Disney lot and calling it good. There are some spots you can park at for free (yep, there are still free things at Disney!), and other spots you’ll have to pay to park.
If you’re heading to Disney Springs, you’re in for a good time! With so many places to spend your hard-earned, hard-saved vacation dollars on delicious meals, frosty beverages, and unique collectibles, you’ll be happy to know you won’t have to spend a dime on parking here (those dimes can all be rerouted to your shopping spree).
Disney Springs
Unless you’re using the valet parking, which is $20 per day, then parking at the Orange, Lime, or Grapefruit parking garage is completely free!Woo Hoo! (Disney assumes you’ll be returning the favor by purchasing copious amounts of merch. )
Lime Garage!
Just like the resorts and parks, the parking garages offer a limited amount of electric charging stations for all your electric car charging needs.
Orange Parking Garage
Now, remember that there is no access to the Disney Parks from Disney Springs. So, if you’re hoping to park at Disney Springs for free while you skip over to spend the day at one of the Disney Parks, this is not the option for you.
Disney Resorts
Years ago, overnight self-parking at Disney World’s hotels was FREE for hotel guests. But Disney later changed things and introduced overnight parking fees for those staying at Disney World’s hotels, which varied in cost depending on what level of hotel you’ll be staying at. Now, things have changed again!
All-Star Movies Parking
Overnight self-parking is FREE once again for guests staying at Disney World’s Resort Hotels. This change went into effect on the evening of January 10th.
If you’re staying at a Disney resort, you can park overnight for free!
Disney shared, “This is a Disney difference many of you have asked us to bring back, and we’re happy to reintroduce it to make your vacation a little easier and more affordable.”
Disney Parks
Yes, you read that right. You can park at the Disney Parks for FREE — but you’ll have to meet some criteria to qualify for this little perk.
EPCOT Parking lot
So, who can park at the Disney parks for free? Disney World Resort Hotel guests get FREE standard parking at all Disney World theme parks.
If you’re gonna opt into Preferred Parking or use one of the electric vehicle charging stations, you will have to cover those fees; those aren’t included with the free perk of an annual pass or a resort stay.
With Disney vacations continuing to be a costly undertaking, it’s nice to know there are still some free options out there (or at least some options that are included with the high prices you’re already paying to visit Disney World). Keep an eye on DFB for more news and updates on how to maximize your Disney vacation!
In a continuing resort-wide phase-out of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration, the Vault Collection overlay previously showcasing special merchandise at EPCOT’s Port of Entry has disappeared.
Port of Entry Says Farewell to the 50th Anniversary
The central area of the store, once featuring the Orange Bird in a centerpiece 50th display and a Mickey ear globe overlay of the central hanging ornamentation, now comprises mostly Oswald the Lucky Rabbit-related fare. Various banners along the ceiling of the atrium advertising the Vault Collection are also gone.
Additionally, regular EPCOT-related posters have returned. This reference to Japan was previously home to an image of Walt Disney presenting his early ideas and schematics for the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow — the inspiration for what eventually became EPCOT as we know it.
Conversely, this Norway poster had been occupied by an image of Walt’s brother, Roy Disney, at the Cinderella Castle construction site in what would become the Magic Kingdom. After Walt’s passing, Roy was the lead for Walt Disney World’s earliest completed projects.
A massive globe with Mickey Mouse ears — prominently emblazoned with “Walt Disney World: The Vacation Kingdom of the World” — has reverted to its regular design.
What has been your favorite memory from this celebration as the anniversary gradually draws to a close? Which displays will you miss the most? Let us know in the comments!

It’s a tale as old as time, enchanting the stage on Disney Cruise Line‘s Disney Dream in a magnificent musical production for years. We are catching up with the DCL special event for family movie night this week. This shortened version of the Beauty and the Beast story is a charming retelling, and what it lacks in running time, it makes up for in sheer elegance and, well, beauty.
Did you make the Grey Stuff recipe we shared earlier today? If so, get it ready to be enjoyed as we kick off this special showing of Disney Cruise Line’s Beauty and the Beast. Enjoy!
