A new Crush ‘n’ Gusher t-shirt has debuted at Typhoon Lagoon during the popular water park’s reopening.
Typhoon Lagoon recently reopened its doors again to guests after a routine refurbishment that began in November 2022. We stopped in to Singapore Sal’s, Typhoon Lagoon’s merchandise shop, and found this new Crush ‘n’ Gusher t-shirt.
For those of you who haven’t been to Typhoon Lagoon, Crush ‘n’ Gusher is a coaster-like raft ride and is one of the park’s signature attractions. Guests can choose from three different “fruit chutes”, or slides, the Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher, or the Banana Blaster and ride down 400-foot long tube slide.
Crush ‘n’ Gusher T-Shirt – $29.99
The new Crush ‘n’ Gusher t-shirt is just your basic, everyday t-shirt. It is a very light tan color, almost like the color of sand –which could be intentional given the theming of the water park. It also features Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in the upper left corner of the shirt.
Back of Crush ‘n’ Gusher T-Shirt
The back of the t-shirt features the signage for the popular water coaster written in large red font. It also features its three “fruit chutes”: Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher, and Banana Blast, below the main sign in tiny, red font. Leaning up against the sign on both sides, are the rafts that guests use on the ride. The background of the shirt features lots of palm trees and birds to give it a tropical feel.
In the top left corner of the picture, it says “TropiCalamity Fruit Explorers”. TropiCalamity is a fictional fruit exporting company which operated out of Placid Palms in Bluster Bay.
If you’re not familiar with the fictional back story of Typhoon Lagoon, it was originally a place called Blustery Bay and was hit by an infamous hurricane in 1955. The TropiCalamity plant was left in ruins and later abandoned. Following the hurricane aftermath, locals repurposed the abandoned fruit exporting company into an attraction. Behold, Crush ‘n’ Gusher was born.
A little fun fact: the ride got its name from TropiCalamity’s (Tropical Amity) slogan: “Our juices are crushed with flavor…Our produce is gushing with taste”.
