PHOTOS: The Crowds Are INTENSE for Roundup Rodeo BBQ’s Opening Day in Disney World

HEY, HOWDY, HEY!

It’s open!

Roundup Rodeo BBQ has officially opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and even though we got the chance to preview this spot before it was open — you know we had to go check it out again! But first, we wanted to show you what the crowds look like on the opening day of a Disney World restaurant.

Greetings from Hollywood Studios! We’re here to check out the opening day of Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land, and trust us — we’re ready for some barbecue. But apparently, we weren’t the only ones! As we headed into Hollywood Studios, we noticed a steady stream of people trickling in, but nothing too out of the ordinary considering we got there in the morning as others arrived.

Headed into the park

Even as we walked down Sunset Boulevard toward the Tower of Terror, there was plenty of space available to walk without bumping into anyone. Where was everyone hiding?!

Nothing too bad yet

Had everyone already made their way into Toy Story Land to get a peek at the new spot? They certainly weren’t hiding over here.

Not packed over here

We started making our way back toward Roundup Rodeo BBQ, and that’s where we spotted the first signs that maybe, just maybe — Hollywood Studios wasn’t quite as empty as it first appeared to be. We decided to soldier on and headed to Toy Story Land…

Getting there

and THERE THEY WERE! Look at all those people! Granted, this area of the park is known for being pretty congested, but even by a regular park day’s standards, this is looking pretty darn crowded to us.

THERE THEY ARE!

As we got closer to the restaurant, we saw a line of folks waiting to head in to get their grub on. Honestly, same. Overall, the crowds at Hollywood Studios continued to grow as we headed further into the park, especially over in Toy Story Land.

Yikes

When it comes to wait times, Rise of the Resistance had a 3-hour wait, Tower of Terror had a 90-minute wait, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway had a 70-minute wait — all right around lunch time. These wait times aren’t too bad, especially considering we’re in peak spring break times (though maybe that’s because everyone is over at Magic Kingdom trying to get on TRON since it opened early)!

If you’re headed into Hollywood Studios today, keep an eye on wait times on My Disney Experience to get an idea of what crowds might be like, and check back here for more updates. We’ll be bringing you another full review of Roundup Rodeo BBQ, but in the meantime, you can see our review of the meal we got to preview below!
