Grilled Kebabs with Carrot-Chickpea Salad and Garlic Aïoli (Lamb Kefta, Chermoula Chicken) – $6.25
The lamb has quite a kick to it. It’s a tender and well-cooked, hearty kebab.
This is thigh meat chicken, nicely seasoned. The salad is raisin, chickpea, and shredded carrots, topped with garlic aioli. The chicken is nicely cooked and seasoned perfectly, but not hot at all. The slaw is the perfect complement with its sweetness. Both options are great.
*NEW* Hummus Trio – $5.25
Traditional Hummus, Red-Beet-and-Black-Garlic Hummus, and Avocado-Herb Hummus, served with Moroccan Bread and Crispy Papadam
The traditional hummus tastes like normal hummus. It’s fresh and tastes better than the kind you’d get at the grocery store. The beet hummus has a sweeter taste to it. It usually has a tang, but it’s nice that it’s sweet and interesting. The avocado herb hummus tastes like bad guacamole. It has a lot of lemon in it and tons of lemon seed.
If you’re plant-based, this could be a good option. The best hummus is the red beet and black garlic hummus. The bread and the chips are a good accompaniment to the dips. The bread is doughy and fresh, while the chips are perfectly thin, which is great because the hummus is thick.
*NEW* Orange Blossom-Saffron Cake – $5.00
This one’s interesting because it has an outer shell. It has an unusual flavor, but we liked it. The outside coating tastes like white chocolate, while the inside tastes like vanilla custard.
The saffron base does overwhelm your taste buds a bit, but we’re not complaining. The cake is fantastic. It’s fresh and flavorful. This is one of the best items of the festivals. It also comes in a large serving, which is great, as it can easily be shared.
Pomegranate Mimosa – $11.00
We enjoyed this. It’s mostly champagne with aromatics of pomegranate at the end. The seeds in our drink were stuck to the bottom, but we got them after tapping the bottom a bit. The champagne is more prominent than the juice. Still, it’s another pleasant drink option.
*NEW* Keel Farms Strawberry Elderflower Hard Cider, Plant City, FL (5.3% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
From correspondence with Keel Farms: “Plant City strawberries provide a fresh fruit bouquet of ripe macerated berries. The elderflower cuts through the combined sweetness of the apples and strawberries, balancing the flavors and drying out the finish.” The cider will exclusively be available at EPCOT for the festival.
*NEW* Bold Rock Tangerine Hard Cider, Nellysford, VA (4.7% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
From Bold Rock: “Tangerine Cider blends refreshing and tangy citrus notes with a blue ridge hard apple cider base to help thirsty bold rockers celebrate the vibrancy of changing seasons with a vibrant and inviting cider selection!”
3 Daughters Pomegranate Hard Cider, St. Petersburg, FL (5.5% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.
From correspondence with 3 Daughters Brewing: “Not too sweet or tart, this juicy pomegranate cider is perfect for any palette! This invigorating cider has a refreshing and clean taste that will have you feeling cool even in those hot Florida summers.”
