When TRON Lightcycle / Run opens on April 4, the new merchandise will be available at a pop-up shop in Tomorrowland that seems to be located in the former Stitch’s Great Escape.
While the merchandise will typically be found in Tomorrowland Launch Depot (formerly Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.), the pop-up shop will be operating to presumably alleviate crowding in the attraction’s exit path. Disney noted that the shop area will be located across from Monsters Inc., Laugh Floor.
There’s the possibility that they will set up tables and stands under the PeopleMover track, as they did for step-in photo ops during the holiday season.
But it seems more likely they will use the air conditioned interior of the retired attraction. The space was recently used for photo ops during 2022’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
TRON Lightcycle / Run Merchandise
Three TRON merchandise collections are coming.
Life on the Grid is “inspired by the design language of the digital world,” featuring light-up apparel and accessories.
Back to the Arcade features 1980s throwbacks to the original TRON and Flynn’s Arcade.
The Thrill of the Race collection is themed after the Lightcycle vehicles.
There will also be an Identity Program retail experience where, like the Avatar Maker at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can get their face put on an interactive action figure.
Stitch’s Great Escape
Stitch’s Great Escape officially closed in July 2020, though it was “temporarily closed” long before that. Watch our video below of the final show.
It opened in 2004, replacing ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. The exit gift shop, Merchant of Venus, has now become a seating area for Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies.
