Harmonious’s last showing was on April 2nd, and now EPCOT Forever has replaced the show. When it was announced that the nighttime spectacular was leaving the World Showcase Lagoon, Disney also mentioned that the barges would be leaving.
I jumped with joy when I heard the news because I really disliked the barges. It’s no secret that I wasn’t a fan of the show, but I enjoyed the soundtrack. Those barges, though, made me mad. I have said to several people that if Disney created a special ticketed event to watch them take apart the barges, I would purchase that ticket.
Listen, I understand many fans enjoyed the show and loved how different it was from the previous shows that lit up the lagoon. I am sorry that you are losing a show that you love. Trust me; I know it’s not a fun feeling. Hopefully, whatever comes next will be unique and will have us all happy together. Anyway, let’s take a look at what the barges look like at this moment. When I heard that they started taking them apart, I immediately made a park reservation to investigate.
I entered from International Gateway and was immediately greeted by a crane at the center of the lagoon. Which, of course, made my heart soar. As I continued to make my way toward the Mexico pavilion, I took a few pictures of what I saw.
I saw workers on almost every barge, and as I walked around, I saw them move the orange crane around a lot. Nothing major has been taken down, but the screens were off when I was there. All the big stuff will probably happen overnight one of these days, and we will show up at EPCOT and have a clearer view of the World Showcase Lagoon. Hopefully, that day is soon and not months from now because I want nothing more than to sit on a bench with my favorite Flower & Garden food items and admire the view.
