HUGE NEWS has been announced for the Disney World Annual Pass!
Following the closure of the Disney World parks in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Annual Pass sales were paused. Sales resumed in September of 2021 with a revamped version of the program with new pass options. Sales were not active for long, because by November 2021, they had been paused again for all but one version of the Annual Pass. Now, Annual Pass sales will resume SOON
New sales for Disney World Annual Passes will resume starting on April 20th, 2023! Disney confirmed that this includes the Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass, and Pirate Pass, and the Pixie Dust Pass (which has been available for purchase) will still be available.
Disney notes that the number of passes for sale will be limited, and any pass type “may become unavailable for purchase at any time.” So if you’ve been waiting to purchase your pass, you’ll want to hurry and get one ASAP. Set your alarms for April 20th!
The prices of the Annual Passes were raised in November 2022, and those prices will be the same when the passes go on sale soon. Disney has confirmed that the online purchase strategy may include a waiting room as it did the last time Annual Passes went on sale.
Disney confirmed that “as always, during your renewal window, you may choose to renew into any available pass type with a special renewal benefit.” However, if you want to upgrade your pass outside of your renewal window, you will be able to do that starting on April 20th. Disney sent a message to Annual Passholders stating that “existing Passholders will have the option to upgrade their Annual Pass, outside of their renewal window, online. The difference in prices must be paid in full at the time of the upgrade and the new Pass will have the same expiration date as the original pass.”
There are four levels for the Annual Pass, each at varying prices with different blockout dates.
Incredi-Pass
First up is the Incredi-Pass. This is the most comprehensive Annual Pass and is the most expensive at $1,399 plus tax. The Annual Pass does not have any blockout dates and the Passholder can hold up to 5 Disney Park Pass Reservations at one time.
The Incredi-Pass is the only Annual Pass that is available to non-Florida residents and non-DVC members.
Sorcerer Pass
The Sorcerer Pass is $969 plus tax. This pass does come with some blockout dates “during select holiday periods” and, like the Incredi-Pass will allow guests to hold up to 5 Disney Park Pass Reservations.
The Sorcerer Pass is only available to Florida residents and members of the Disney Vacation Club.
Pirate Pass
The Pirate Pass is $749 plus tax and has more blockout dates than the Sorcerer Pass, including peak times and holidays. Guests can hold up to 4 Disney Park Pass Reservations at one time.
The Pirate Pass is available for Florida residents only.
Pixie Dust Pass
The Pixie Dust Pass is $399 plus tax and has the most blockout dates of any of the Annual Passes. Not only are peak times and holidays blocked out, but weekends are, as well, so the pass can only be used on weekdays. Guests with the Pixie Dust Pass can hold up to 4 Park Pass Reservations at once.
The Pixie Dust Pass is the only Annual Pass that remained available for purchase after Disney paused sales in November and is only available for Florida residents.
As we saw when Annual Pass sales resumed last year, sales will be limited, and they may only be available for sale for a few months before they become unavailable again, so if you’re interested in purchasing one, we would recommend getting it sooner rather than later.
There are some perks to Disney World Annual Passes, like special Passholder discounts on shopping and dining, as well as access to Passholder-exclusive merchandise. Plus, you’ll get the iconic Annual Passholder magnet.
