Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes has unveiled a new line of collectible, colorful putty in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida. Each tin is priced at $20 and is recommended for ages 3+. While the substance is non-toxic, it is still a choking hazard, and not recommended for infants or extremely young children.
Harry Potter Themed Putty at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes
There are currently six variations: Clear putty, Pixie Mischief putty, Love putty, Troll Bogey putty, Luminescent putty, and Phoenix Fire putty. Each container holds 3.2 ounces. The putty itself is capable of causing stains and sticking to clothing, hair, eyebrows, or fabric — use with care.
The Clear putty tin is decorated with blue and red pinstripes, question marks, and stars.
This Pixie Mischief putty features the Cornish pixies on its cover, who once wreaked havoc at a Defense Against the Dark Arts class in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” until Hermione Granger was able to immobilize them.
The Love putty is rose-scented, coming in a pink tin with heart and star patterns. Love potions aren’t anything new to this shop or Diagon Alley in general. Love potion bags and candy are also available at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. No-melt ice cream themed around the love potions depicted in the books and films has appeared at Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in the past.
“Bogey Bits” are mixed into this Troll Bogey putty, with green goo oozing over the front. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger notably defeated a troll in the Hogwarts dungeons during their first year, solidifying a lifelong friendship as they risked their lives to protect each other.
One of the putties, Luminescent, glows in the dark. For witches and wizards in the world of Harry Potter, the word “lumos” is uttered to cast a useful spell that essentially turns their wands into a flashlight (or torch).
Finally, the Phoenix Fire putty is described as having “metallic strands,” and refers to the mythical creature that appears in the Harry Potter stories as a healing, flaming bird. Fawkes is one famous phoenix — residing in the office of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and constantly being reborn from its own ashes.
There’s a wide range of new Wizarding World opportunities for guests to discover in the parks and at home.
- Wand engraving is now available throughout Universal Orlando Resort, in both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
- Author J.K. Rowling is set to produce a decade-long series based on the Harry Potter books for the HBO Max streaming service. Warner Bros. Discovery anticipates each book will receive a full season of content.
- The Wizarding World is expanding — Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park is well into construction , and an entire new area rumored to feature the Ministry of Magic as its main attraction is part of this major expansion.
