If you love Disney as much as we do, you’ll want to mark your calendars for April 20th.
Why? Well, for the first time in FOREVER (cue Frozen soundtrack) Disney will be selling NEW Annual Passes for all tiers! Almost all Annual Pass sales have been paused since 2021. Not only will new Annual Passes be available on April 20th, but current Passholders will be able to renew and upgrade their passes outside of their usual renewal window.
When can I purchase a new Annual Pass?
Starting April 20th, Annual Passes for ALL tiers will go on sale for new Passholders. Previously, only the Pixie Dust Pass was available, and that one is only available for Florida residents. This is a BIG deal, because new Annual Pass sales have been paused since November 2021.
Disney confirmed that sales include the Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass, and Pirate Pass, and the Pixie Dust Pass (which has been available for purchase) will still be available as well.
Some DVC Members will be able to purchase a Sorcerer Pass early, on April 13th.
I already have an Annual Pass…What does this news mean for me?
If you already have your Annual Pass, there’s still an important update you need to know about! Starting on April 20th, current Annual Passholders can upgrade their Pass, even if they’re not within the renewal window.
If you do choose to upgrade to a different pass, you will need to pay the price difference in full at the time you upgrade.
Your new, upgraded Pass will still have the same expiration date that your previous Pass had, so you might not want to upgrade if you only have a short time left on your current Pass. In that situation, we’d recommend waiting to upgrade until your renewal period begins. Even if new Annual Passes sell out, you’ll be given the option to upgrade when it’s time to renew your pass (which has been the case for a while now).
And if you don’t renew your pass on April 20th, no need to panic. You’ll still be able to renew your pass during your usual renewal window.
Which Annual Pass is right for me?
Deciding which Pass is right for you can depend on several factors — price, state of residence, how often you plan to be in the parks, and more. Check out the list below for specific details on the different Pass types.
Disney Incredi-Pass
This is the only Annual Pass that is open for everyone to purchase. This pass has NO blockout dates and allows Passholders to have five park reservations at a time.
The cost for the Disney Incredi-Pass is $1,399 plus tax. You can pay for it all at once, or — if you are a Florida resident ONLY — make a $205 downpayment and then pay 12 monthly payments of $108 per month.
Disney Sorcerer Pass
This pass is available for Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club Members only. It has some blockout dates during busy holidays, such as Thanksgiving weekend, and about a 2-week period at Christmas and New Year’s is blocked out as well.
The price of the Disney Sorcerer Pass is $969 plus tax. You can pay this all at once, or — if you are a Florida resident only — make a downpayment of $205 and then pay 12 monthly payments of $69 each. Similar to the Incredi-Pass, you can hold five park reservations at a time.
Disney Pirate Pass
This Annual Pass is for Florida residents only. It also has quite a few more blockout dates than the Sorcerer Pass. The blockout dates include about 10 days around Easter, holiday weekends (including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day), and more days around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
As for price, the Disney Pirate Pass is $749 plus tax. You can pay this all at once, or make a downpayment of $205 and then pay 12 monthly payments of $50 each. You can hold four park reservations at a time.
Disney Pixie Dust Pass
This Annual Pass is already available but is only for Florida residents. It’s the cheapest pass. This pass has the most blockout dates out of all the passes — with blockouts every weekend and throughout the holiday seasons. You can only use this pass on the weekdays, and only outside of holiday seasons.
The price of the Pixie Dust Pass is $399 plus tax. You can pay this all at once, or make a downpayment of $205 and then pay 12 monthly payments of $19 each. You can hold three park reservations at a time.
You can get some special perks if you have an Annual Pass. Other than not having to pay for tickets each time you go to the parks, you can get some pretty awesome discounts at dining and merchandise locations. Further, you’ll have access to exclusive merchandise that requires you to show your Annual Pass at checkout. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a first look at the newest rides before anyone else! And soon, you’ll be able to enter the parks without a park reservation after 2PM each day, with the exception of Magic Kingdom on the weekends.
