Family Movie Night: Let’s Watch Disney’s ‘Zootopia’

It’s Family Movie Night here at the Dis, the perfect time to take a break from the busy week we have all had a reconnect over some good old-fashioned Disney movie magic. I’m super excited about the Animal Kingdom 25th Anniversary, which has been unfolding over the last week and has inspired my pick for this week’s movie. We are watching one of my favorite Disney Movies, Zootopia. I really appreciate this movie, and it’s a departure from the usual Disney formula of Princesses or equals. It was a stand-alone winner with great characters and enough depth to keep us adults interested.

Before we get started with this fabulous movie later this evening, make sure you have access to the film through Disney+ or the streaming service of your choice if you prefer to rent or purchase it. I’ll be back soon with some treats that we can whip up in the kitchen to make a healthy and delicious meal with the family, along with a simple dessert that tastes great too.

While you wait, check out the clip below as Directors Rich Moore and Byron Howard talk about the influence Disney’s Animal Kingdom had on the film’s research behind the scenes.

Zootopia Directors Rich Moore and Byron Howard recently stopped by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and shared with us how they looked to the residents of Disney’s Animal Kingdom for inspiration. Some of their research, which included visiting attractions and taking the Wild Africa Trek for an up-close look, influenced how an animal’s fur looks or how a nose twitches in the film.
