How TRON Lightcycle / Run Will Work with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World

2023 is going by fast, and before you know it — Halloween will be here!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party feels like it’s right around the corner — but something is a little different this year. There’s a NEW ride in Magic Kingdom! TRON Lightcycle / Run opened in Tomorrowland on April 4th, 2023, and many have been wondering how (or if!) this new ride will be operating during the Halloween party this year.

During typical hours, TRON Lightcycle / Run uses both a Virtual Queue and an Individual Lightning Lane system to manage demand. But, during last year’s Halloween party, Disney did not use Genie+, so what should you expect?

Well, we finally have our answer! TRON Lightcycle / Run will be operating and using a Virtual Queue (VQ) during the party. This means that spots will be limited, so riding this coaster during the party isn’t guaranteed. However, this does mean that visitors who do get a Virtual Queue can enjoy the other festivities while they wait for their callback time (instead of waiting for hours in line).

The details about how and when to sign up for a VQ for the party have yet to be released, but we will let you know as soon as it is!

Lots of other rides are open during the Halloween party, and some of them even have special Halloween-themed overlays! You can check out the spooky overlay at Space Mountain, talk to real pirates at Pirates of the Caribbean, and chat with ghosts in the queue of Haunted Mansion.

You can expect shorter lines than usual for Magic Kingdom attractions during the party as well, which is a huge bonus. Remember that this year’s party takes place from August 11th through November 1st, and tickets go on sale on May 2nd (or April 27th, if you’re starting at a Disney World hotel).

We’ll be at the party and bringing you all the details, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
