Heroes of all ages can rejoice as the fan-demanded “Rogers: The Musical” is headed to the stage of the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure this summer! And as preparation for the musical continues, the courtyard near the theater in Hollywood Land has been cleared entirely.
Hyperion Theater Courtyard Cleared
This space has been repurposed for a myriad of different uses since the COVID-19 pandemic, from overflow seating for PYM Test Kitchen when Avengers Campus opened to accommodating giveaways and photo ops for Anaheim Ducks Day. Now the area has been entirely cleared, leaving a few benches around the periphery but mostly an empty concrete space.
Three signs are in place to help divide guests waiting in line for “Rogers: The Musical.” The three lines will go to the mezzanine, balcony, and orchestra sections. The theater seats just shy of 2000 guests, meaning plenty of people should be able to experience the show. It’s expected that soon chains will divvy up this courtyard so guests will be organized once they arrive.
Trees and occasional trash cans still stand as well as the staircase outside the building up to the mezzanine and balcony.
The plaza is otherwise fairly clean and quiet, a brief respite for now until the stanchions go back up.

Rogers: The Musical
A short, one-act version of “Rogers: The Musical” will debut at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure on June 30, 2023. The show was first seen in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.”
Singers and dancers tell the story of Steve Rogers – Captain America – joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury, and select members of the Avengers. The musical will “take the audience on a journey from Steve’s humble beginnings during World War II to becoming Captain America, leading the Avengers and beyond. It’s a classic tale of heroes, time travel, and romance, oh … and Nick Fury sings!”
The show will feature familiar music, including “Save the City,” from the Disney+ series “Hawkeye;” “Star Spangled Man” from the film “Captain America: The First Avenger;” plus, five new original songs written just for “Rogers: The Musical” at Disneyland Resort.
The Hyperion Theater is located in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure. Prior to the announcement that “Rogers: The Musical” would soon arrive, the 2,000-seat theater sat dark for years. This will be the first new show since “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” closed at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
“Rogers: The Musical” will run approximately 30 minutes, from Tuesday through Saturday most weeks. Additional details, including show dates and times, plus news about the merchandise and food and beverage offerings themed to “Rogers: The Musical” will be shared as opening day gets closer.
