A new Dooney & Bourke collection inspired by the 1930 Disney cartoon “The Picnic” starring Mickey and Minnie is available at Walt Disney World.
The Picnic Dooney & Bourke Collection
The collection includes three bags, all available at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom.
The Picnic Tote – $328
These bags are all black and white. The tote has an all-over pattern of images from “The Picnic,” including Mickey and Minnie dancing and several food items.
The tote has a small zip pocket on one side and two black handles.
The main pocket also zips up. The interior lining is red.
The Picnic Drawstring Bag – $298
The drawstring bag features the same pattern as the tote. The drawstring is black.
The interior lining is also solid red.
It has a detachable strap.
The bottom is flat so it can easily be set down.
The Picnic Crossbody Purse – $228
The rectangular crossbody bag is white with Mickey and Minnie dancing on one side. A record player is next to them and a bird flies above.
The bag has black piping.
It has an adjustable, detachable black strap.
The other side is solid white.
It has one zip pocket.
“The Picnic” was directed by Burt Gillett and produced by Walt Disney. It was released on October 9, 1930, and was the 23rd Mickey Mouse short. Though not featured on these bags, a dog named Rover was introduced in “The Picnic.” Rover’s design became that of Pluto, who was officially introduced in “The Moose Hunt” the following year.

Disney100 Decades Collections
Last month, Disney released the Disney100 Decades 1930s Collection, the second in a series of collections inspired by various Disney films and characters. The 1930s collection is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Band Concert,” the Three Little Pigs, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
The 1920s collection was inspired by “Steamboat Willie,” the first cartoon featuring Mickey and Minnie.
The 1940s collection features “Pinocchio,” “Fantasia,” the Three Caballeros, and Scrooge McDuck.
