The Disney Parks Halfway to Halloween Celebration continues and now we have big news to share about the biggest Halloween event at Walt Disney World! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will return to Magic Kingdom Park on select nights starting August 11 – November 1! Tickets will go on sale starting May 2.
Last year, ticket pricing ranged between $109 and $199. The prices most likely won’t go down, and it’s safe to assume they will be raised slightly. You have to have a separate ticket to enter the event. The hard-ticket event begins at 7:00 pm and ends at midnight. The ticket allows you to enter the park as early as 4:00 pm. If you don’t have a ticket to the party and you’re at Magic Kingdom the day of the party, you’ll have to leave when the park closes at 6:00 pm.
What happens during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? A lot. More than you could possibly see and do all in one night. Costumes are encouraged but not required for the Halloween event. Characters like Winnie the Pooh and friends will all be dressed for Halloween so you should be too. Other characters you might spot include Jack Skellington, Stitch as Elvis, monsters from Monsters Inc., and more!
How could we forget trick-or-treating? When you enter the park, you’ll be given a wristband for the party and guided to a special area where you’ll receive your trick-or-treat bag and a nice bag of special goodies. Trick-or-treat trails will open after the party officially kicks off and you’ll be given handfuls of candy from Cast Members. Bring a backpack to shove all the candy in or be prepared to carry a bunch of the bags, because you can get as much as you want throughout the night.
If entertainment is what you’re looking for there is plenty. If the party remains unchanged, the highlights will include Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade featuring the Headless Horseman, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and the Cadaver Dans! Some rides even get a spooky overlay like Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Space Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Of course, there will be plenty of specialty snacks to purchase and lots of merchandise for the event if free candy isn’t enough. Tickets will sell out for many nights of the event, and there should be a discount for Annual Passholders and DVC Members, but buy your tickets early if you want to lock in your spot!
