If an elegant — but slightly eerie — old mansion came up for sale, would you buy it? On the one hand, the price is pretty unbeatable, but on the other hand, you can’t figure out where that random chilly breeze is coming from in the hallway. Hey, they should make a movie with that idea!

Luckily, Disney is ten steps ahead of us; a NEW adaptation of The Haunted Mansion movie is coming soon! The movie is inspired by the classic Disney attraction, and we’ve already seen several little Haunted Mansion Easter eggs in the trailer.
Disney’s newest Haunted Mansion adaptation will follow a doctor and her son as they look to start a new life. The pair moves into a mansion in New Orleans but quickly discovers that the place is, well, you can probably guess, HAUNTED! So far, we know stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, and Jared Leto will play a role in the film.
Are you excited for this new movie to premiere?
Disney announced that The Haunted Mansion will premiere on July 28th, and we now know that the movie will come with a PG-13 rating. It seems like this movie will be geared toward older kids and adults — expect some grown-up jokes!

According to the film’s IMDb page, the movie was rated PG-13 for “some thematic elements and scary action.” Further details about the action of the movie have not been revealed yet, so we’ll have to wait and see just how spooky Disney plans to get with its new adaptation!
Maybe there will be a jump scare or two!
