The Disney100 Decades 1940s Collection has arrived at Disneyland Resort. This group of merch includes items inspired by the Three Caballeros, Pinocchio, “Fantasia,” and Scrooge McDuck. We found it in World of Disney at Downtown Disney District.
Three Caballeros Minnie Ear Headband – $39.99
This Minnie ear headband is pink and yellow, with the Three Caballeros — Panchito Pistoles, Donald Duck, and José Carioca — on the ears and bow. While Donald is a plastic piece, Panchito and José are embroidered.
A plaque for the Disney100 Decades Collection is on the side of the headband.
The ears are rimmed with yellow balls and the backs are embroidered with Latin American designs. Adding to the magic of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration, this new Minnie ear headband plays the music of the beloved Three Caballeros.
“The Three Caballeros” premiered in Mexico City in 1944 before receiving a wide release in 1945. It was the 7th Walt Disney Animation Studios film and was the first appearance of Panchito Pistoles, the third caballero. José Carioca had already appeared with Donald in “Saludos Amigos.”
Limited Release Scrooge McDuck Pin – $34.99
The front of this pin resembles Scrooge’s “Money Bin,” a giant vault where he stores all his gold coins. A raised “$” is on the front of the pin.
It opens to reveal two images of Scrooge: one where he’s looking particularly angry and miserly, and another where he’s dusting off the glass case containing his first dime. The image on the left is from his debut comic, “Christmas on Bear Mountain” by Carl Barks, which was published in 1947.
Pinocchio Loungefly Mini Backpack – $98
This Loungefly mini backpack resembles Pinocchio, with his blue bowtie and white collar on the flap of the front pocket. The rest of the pocket is red and yellow, like his shirt and shorts, with red suspenders and faux yellow buttons. The Disney and Loungefly plaque is in the bottom corner. His face peeks out from above the pocket and he wears is yellow-brown hat with blue ribbon and red feather.
The side pockets are decorated like his red shorts. The top of the backpack is black, like his hair.
The straps are brown and a fabric Disney100 Decades patch is on the back.
Jiminy Cricket is printed on the back as well, floating along on an embroidered umbrella near a dangling, detachable donkey tail.
Two donkey ears can also be folded out from the back so they stick out of the sides.
“Fantasia” Plush Pegasi Set – $64.99
There are five pegasi plush included in this set inspired by “The Pastoral Symphony” segment of “Fantasia” (1940). Each pegasus is a different color: pink, blue, yellow, and orange. The fifth pegasus is Peter Pegasus, who is black, purple, and white. They come in a dust bag.
The previous Disney100 Decades 1920s Collections were inspired by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and “Steamboat Willie.” The 1930s Collection featured merchandise for “The Band Concert,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” the Three Little Pigs, and Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar. The upcoming Disney100 1950s collection will feature merchandise from “Cinderella” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
