A new sign has been added to the side of Soundstage V, the future home of Villain-Con Minion Blast at Universal Studios Florida.
Villain-Con Minion Blast
The new sign is above the recently installed Vicious 6 billboard and reads “Universal Studios Welcomes” in white lettering against a blue background.
In the fiction of the new attraction, Universal Studios Florida is hosting Villain-Con, with the various villains of the Minions franchise appearing.
The Vicious 6 are the main villains in the recently released “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” The five team members pictured on the billboard are Svengeance, Stronghold, Belle Bottom, Nunchuck, and Jean Clawed. The team betrayed their former leader, Wild Knuckles, and he’s not pictured, but they’re still called the Vicious 6.
Other villains featured on banners include Scarlet Overkill, Vector, El Macho, and Bratt. More villain posters are down the side of the building.
The new attraction and Minion Cafe are expected to open later this year, as part of Illumination Avenue. The land will also include the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride.
Illumination Avenue will take over at least part of Production Central, which also houses Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and Transformers: The Ride 3D. It’s not clear how the lands will specifically be divided since these two rides are on either side of the Minions attractions.
