The battle between The Walt Disney World Company, Reedy Creek Improvement District, and Governor Ron DeSantis is ongoing.

Recently, we brought you a lot of news on the matter. Earlier today, the bill impacting Disney’s Reedy Creek Agreements passed in the Florida Senate. That bill is expected to pass in the House of Representatives and be signed by Gov. DeSantis. Yesterday, we reported on how Disney Springs businesses are worried about how this all could impact them. It was also announced yesterday that Disney is suing Governor DeSantis and current district board members. Now, there’s another update on this situation.

Now, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (formerly Reedy Creek Improvement District) will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 1st, at 9:30 AM, according to the Reedy Creek website. There is only one item listed on the agenda for the meeting.

Board discussion and direction to litigation counsel and authorization to defend District officials sued in official capacities” is the single item listed on the meeting Agenda. We will be sure to report any news that comes from this meeting on Monday.
