The return of all Disney World Annual Pass sales has been a rocky one, to say the least.

This morning, April 20th, 2023, all Annual Pass types for Disney World went back on sale after most passes were unavailable for new sales for over a year. With such high demand for the passes, Disney World’s website was apparently overwhelmed and many people had to wait several hours in an online queue before having the chance to buy a pass. That demand has stayed high, and Disney has announced how they plan to handle pass sales overnight.
Earlier today, Disney warned that some types of Annual Passes could sell out very soon. The page that appeared when people entered the online queue was updated with a message that said, “Due to high popularity of our Annual Passes, please know wait times may exceed several hours. We anticipate a pass or select passes may become unavailable for purchase later today.” This was around 2:30PM EST.

Later, around 9PM EST, Disney once again updated the page with a new notice. The notice now states, “We thank you and all our fans for the incredible enthusiasm for the Passholder program. Pass sales will pause at 11PM Eastern Time. Guests will remain in the queue overnight, as long as they remain connected to the network and keep their browser window open. Pass sales will resume no earlier than 7:15 AM Eastern Time tomorrow.”

This notice also states that all four Annual Pass types are available to purchase: the Disney Incredi-Pass, Disney Pixie Pass, Disney Pirate Pass, and Disney Sorcerer Pass. The warning is still there that any pass could become unavailable for purchase after sales reopen on the morning of April 21st.

So if you’re still waiting for your turn to buy a new pass, don’t close your browser window tonight! Your spot in the queue should be saved between 11PM EST and 7:15AM EST. Be sure to be ready at 7:15AM EST to keep an eye on the sale once again, because you’ll only have 10 minutes to buy a pass once your turn to shop arrives.
