If you’re flying Southwest, be prepared for some big complications today.
After canceling thousands of flights in late 202, facing massive backlash due to those issues, and promising improvements for the future, it seems issues have impacted Southwest once again in a big way.
According to WESH 2 News, ALL flights by Southwest Airlines were grounded throughout the United States on April 18th for a period of time.
A Tweet by the Federal Aviation Administration indicated that Southwest requested the FAA pause their departures.

According to FlightAware, around 1,249 Southwest flights (about 30%) were delayed as of 11:01AM ET. By 11:05AM ET, around 1,512 Southwest flights were listed as delayed.
In various responses made to comments on Twitter, Southwest apologized for any inconvenience that had been caused.
Even though the ground stop has been lifted, it could lead to some continued delays as Southwest resumes operations and tries to get back on schedule. So if you’re flying with Southwest today, be sure to check and see if your flight is delayed and how that might impact your plans.
