Construction fencing that has surrounded the Monorail Station in Downtown Disney District since January 2023 has finally been removed.
Construction Fencing Removed Around Monorail Station in Downtown Disney District
When we stopped by Downtown Disney today, we saw that the rest of the construction fencing surrounding the Monorail Station had been removed. Though the construction walls were first erected in January 2023, the monorail still remained open and operated on its normal schedule during the entirety of the construction.
The construction walls stretched from the right side of Star Wars Trading Post to the right side the monorail station, where guests can enter.
In February 2023, most of the construction fencing had been removed to reveal fresh new pavement.
Downtown Disney District is currently undergoing a major reimagining, but it looks like pavement is the only update to the Downtown Disney Monorail Station for now. The new pavement gives the area a cleaner, new look.
The Disneyland Monorail was closed from March 20-23 for a quick refurbishment. It was most likely due to routine maintenance.
It is unclear at this time if any additional changes will be made to the area.
For reference, pictured above, is the old pavement at the Downtown Disney monorail station.

Downtown Disney Overhaul
The Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort is currently undergoing a transformation which includes several new shops and restaurants on their way. The new spaces set to be constructed are inspired by the mid-century space age look which was incredibly popular in California during the 1950s and 60s.
So far we’ve heard about plenty of the new outlets, such as the award-winning Din Tai Fung, which serves Chinese food including bao, wontons, and more. Other outlets on the way include the beloved Porto’s Bakery, and a new permanent home for Earl of Sandwich. Currently the sandwich shop sits in the former home of La Brea Bakery, which will be the site of Porto’s in the near future.
