The roof of the Tangierine Café dining location in the Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT is currently under refurbishment.
Tangierine Café Roof Refurbishment
We stopped by the Morocco Pavilion at World Showcase in EPCOT today and noticed some beige-colored tarps on the roof of the Tangierine Café.
It appears that there is some sort of construction happening on each of the roofs that house the dining location.
This roof refurbishment can be anything from normal maintenance to a fresh, new coat of paint. No details have been released as to what we can expect to see once the beige tarps are removed.
These bushes have been lined up near the building for weeks. They were concealing a large orange bloom lift.
The Tangierine Café is currently serving as a Marketplace Food Booth for EPCOT’s seasonal festivals. It is still fully operational despite the roof construction.

Other Construction at EPCOT
With ComminiCore Hall Construction, Journey of Water Inspired by Moana construction, and the start of the removal of the Harmonious barges, it seems like EPCOT is a giant construction site.
First Harmonious Barge Removed from World Showcase Lagoon at EPCOT
The first Harmonious barge has been removed from World Showcase Lagoon in EPCOT following the end of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The barge closest to Germany and Italy is gone. Lights have been removed off the tops of the barges as well. Three of the four corner barges remain.
Construction cranes have been spotted nearby getting ready to dismantle the remaining barges. Cast Members have been working diligently to remove the barges and restore the obstruction free view of World Showcase Lagoon.
Journey of Water Inspired by Moana
Major milestones have continued to pour in this week, as Disney posted a TikTok video sharing detailed glimpses of the attraction’s running water features for the first time up close.
The curved poles are lampposts and orb-shaped lamps have already been hung from some of them. Ropes are wrapped around the poles, which are clustered together in groups of two or three. The walkthrough attraction is made up of water features built into fake rockwork. The rocks are covered in fake plants and moss, and feature some Easter egg carvings.
A sidewalk cuts between construction walls towards the center of EPCOT, the future location of Dreamer’s Point with a new Walt Disney statue.
The water features will be controlled from this station covered by two metal awnings and surrounded by green fencing. Right now, the station is completely visible, but with more trees and foliage, it will probably be mostly hidden from guest view — at least, on the ground. It may still be visible from the Monorail.
According to CEO Bob Iger, Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” is the last step in the years-long EPCOT reimagining. It’s expected to open later this year, along with Dreamer’s Point, CommuniCore Hall, and CommuniCore Plaza.
Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” is part of the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT. It is set to open this fall.
